From now on, we will announce minor changes that don't deserve their own topic in this thread. It's locked since it doesn't really need comments, so if you see a new post, you'll know we made some change.

I've changed the character limit for signatures to 400, since 255 seemed awfully low. Have fun with the additional room.

The url limit remains unchanged.

I just put up two new sections for the Hall of the Arts.
The Seller's Gallery is for shops, contests, raffles and the like.
Art adoptables are going into the Living Art section from now on; consider them moving pictures the Magi are giving out or selling, that's the story behind the name.

To go with that, a new set of HotA rules has been released that details where each kind of thread is to go from now on.

We are still in the process of moving threads, but if you think we overlooked yours and it needs moving, feel free to report it with a quick note asking it to be moved.

As promised some time ago, the Tea House now has two new sections.

The Den is for any kind of fanfiction, including stories set in the Magiverse.
The Parlor is for all original writing, i. e. stories where the characters and the world are completely your own.
The main section of the Tea House is for general discussions about writing, contests and shops.

A new set of rules has been put up to go with these changes. Your threads will be moved over the next few hours to fit the changes.

A bit late, but for all users in Europe, remember that your DST ended on Sunday. If you had it activated for the time displayed by MS, you should deactivate it now, or time will not display correctly for you.

For all users in the US and Canada, your daylight saving time ended last night. Make sure to change the site clock accordingly, so you don't get confused.

After some deliberation, we decided to lighten one of the MD rules a bit. The rule about giving reasons for wanting to buy creatures (usually called sob-story rule) has been changed to the following:
You are allowed to give a short explanation on why you want to buy a creature (e. g. a friend's birthday or as a Christmas gift). However, long stories, especially about pets that happen to look like a creature or dead family members that would have loved the sprite are forbidden and considered spam. That kind of story will result in the thread being locked immediately.
If you are in doubt on whether something would be allowed under that rule or not, the moderators will be happy to help if you drop them a polite PM.

Just as a reminder, for those of you in the US, daylight saving time has started last night. Remember to change the time in your User Control Panel to reflect that, especially if you plan to participate in auctions.

For as long as DST is in effect, any time given in EST (Eastern Standard Time), CST (Central Standard Time), MST (Mountain Standard Time) or PST (Pacific Standard Time) will be assumed to take DST into account unless otherwise noted.

A bit late, but for everyone in Europe, please remember that your clocks changed to summer time over the weekend. If you want Magistream to accurately reflect our time zone, you'll have to change it to DST as well.

Until summer time in Europe ends, any time given in WET, CET or EET in the Merchant District are considered to have DST in effect unless specifically noted otherwise.

The following rule has just been added to the Merchant District rules:

If you offer a creature for sale or trade, your post needs to contain a link to the creature in question so the buyer can check all the pertinent information for that creature, like gender and generation. Since hidden tabs prevent that, it is not allowed to put creatures for sale into one of them. If you want to keep clicks from affecting your creature, you'll have to hide it in a trade instead.
Likewise, linking to a tab is not enough; you'll have to link to creatures directly to prevent scamming.

Please note that this pertains only to sales in the Merchant District. You may still link to tabs in your signature or profile, but for Merchant District threads, you'll have to post direct links to the creatures you are offering, whether in your own thread or in response to someone else's.
