You've got 5 presents, but you can't open them yet!
Can someone please explains what this means? I'm not sure what presents are and when can I open them.
It's for the gifting event! It just means 5 people have sent you gifts. You won't be able to open them till the gifting event ends. Which in this case means Nov 2nd
From the front page of the site
Gifting:
Gifting will start on October 27th. Sending gifts will be available up to and including November 1st. Opening received gifts will be possible starting from November 2nd. For those new to the site or gifting events, here's a quick break-down as to what gifting means:
You can gift unfrozen eggs and hatchlings to other users.
In order to gift a creature, click on "Give" on the creature's page or next to the creature in your keep view, fill in the recipient's username, fill in a note if you want, and send it.
You can gift an unlimited amount of creatures, but only three creatures to any one person.
You can receive a maximum of 25 presents. In order to see how many presents you have, go to your Keep page and scroll to the bottom. If you see no mention of presents then you don't have any yet.
There will not be a gift-born creature but you will receive a badge for gifting.

I'm relatively new here so even now many eggs in the stream are completely new to me.
Is there a way to get the information on the eggs before clicking on them in the stream?

I try to get as many of them as possible; however I can't seem to identify before clicking whether the creature is rare or not.
Is there a way to achieve this?; or I'll just have to be lucky to get them?

Go to the Bestiary, and put 'stream' in the 'obtained from' section and that will show you all the ones obtained in the stream.
It doesn't however, count event only creatures even if they are found in the stream (like the Forgotten Unicorn, or the Mortifelis) as they fall under 'event' and freshly released creatures won't appear there either (it takes a few days) so checking the Community Discussion for posts about creature releases can help there.

I find the Creature list on the Magistream wiki very helpful, it isn't always up to date when new creatures are released but it is still a valuable resource! Plus it has a very visually appealing layout for quick reference :)
You can find a link to it here: https://magistream.fandom.com/wiki/Creature_List

I was just wondering how someone could have 18 unfrozen eggs right now? Is it from the gifting?

More than likely...if someone had happened to get gifted all eggs they'd have 25 of them....

I have a couple of questions regarding roleplaying in general:
When creating a public/rp group, are we allowed to have more than one rp thread if it relates to the rp? (specifically if the rp consists of two different stages, can we separate the stages in two threads?)
Can we separate the signup/lore thread from the OOC thread?

I don't think that's an issue, though it might be easier on your participants to consolidate all IC and OOC talk in one thread per :derp:

Not sure what is the expected in this case:
Image
Creature: Image

Shouldn't this be a hatchling with 0% instead of an egg at 100%?
