Hello, I was told you need an adult hellhound to move on in the quest, but they aren't recognizing the adult hound in my main tab...do I need a quest born one by completing the trials of the heart? (read the hellhound bio to find out how to get one If so, how do I trigger it?

If you're referring to the Mysterious Business Quest to join the Dark Brotherhood, you can't complete it since you already belong to the Herbalist Guild. You can only belong to one Society / Guild / Brotherhood at a time.

If you want to switch from the Herbalist Guild to the Dark Brotherhood, you'll first have to complete the Face Changer Quest. It costs 100k to do so.
