Adding onto the plant creature idea, what about vine snakes and lotus anglers? The vine snakes could live in colonies and share nutrients with eachother via their 'venom', which is why they're all tangled together.
Due to their codependency, they could be a valentines creature? Maybe mates pair off and start a new chain from time to time.

As for the lotus angler.
From above, it looks like a normal lotus leaf or flower- but really, that's the creature's tongue or some other appendage. Either way, as soon as something lands on it, it's probably going to get eaten.

I think a mink would be a great creature!
We already have an otter creature and the ferret released this past valentines event (they are all mustelids along with wolverines/ermine/badgers/martins) but the mink's squishy little face is too cute and feisty to ignore, and their winter coat is so floofy. It could also be really great for awareness from an environmental standpoint since they are farmed for their fur. I think they could fill a niche, maybe give a heat buff in cold temperatures or they could have a "domestication" breeding feature almost like the cervenus deer where breeding generations can give you molted, pure white, sapphire, pearl, blue, and/or black coats (though maybe not if it simulates them being farmed...unless a breeding mechanic for friendliness is introduced where the more friendly they become the cooler their colors get like with that Russian fox experiment) OR if you wanted to lean more into the magi schtick maybe they could have an invisibility feature that they use instead of camouflage? or instead of semi-aquatic they could be fire elemental and their oil could be a fire retardant instead of water repellent.

thank you for taking the time to read this! I hope that even if a mink Isn't introduced that some of these ideas might be useful for another creature
I think you got the mink with the starclad one, but going along with the musties...I want a sable! I love those beautiful martens, they are so beautiful...with beautiful fur coats...

I agree with the person who asked for plant based creatures...I would love something that is poppy related...maybe cats and tortoiseshell?

I like bees...wait!

Naked Mole Rats!
The Wishlist in my profile is outdated (I can't quite figure out how to edit it now, so many of the creatures there have already been obtained).

Gift ideas: Really am looking for a Varja Crystalwing for future breeding of pygmies and Gemdragons.

I adore every snail and snail-like creature introduced to Magistream, and dream of some day owning the whole array.

I would love to see more love given to slugs and other soft-crawly critters! More specifically, bright land slugs much like the Banana Slug. I have also seen the Earthworm recommended in this thread.

A similar animal that would make a more exotic pet for our Keep is the Velvet Worm, a furry multi-legged panarthropod that comes in soft pink/purple hues. They also have their own mating ritual, birth live young and are fearsome slime-spewing predators.

Velvet Worm: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onychophora
Banana Slug: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banana_slug

____

Additionally, I have two creature flavor concepts:

Crystal Snails - Prismatic snails with a crystal shell, adored for their pigmented slime utilized in makeup as well as the valuable recycling of their clear shells into lenses.

Plant/Tree Morph Slugs - Slugs that camouflage their eggs into the trunks/stalks of plants, only to grow into a morph fashioned after the plant itself. They spend their entire life munching on the new buds, having perfectly evolved to avoid the threat of ground-crawling insects trying to eat them.Magi could also have exploited this evolutionary habit by encouraging the slugs to change their morphs and diets to popular or colorful fruits and plants.

I have also seen succulents mentioned in the thread. The Dragonfruit has a stunning cactus that it grows from, the ones cultivated in farms often looking like willow trees. The fruit itself would make for some beautiful pet designs! Even in our slug department.

Case in point, here is a Dragonfruit Slug:

Upon entering this hidden inner chamber, your senses are assaulted by an exotic bouquet and a lush field of color. Snails, everywhere; Blossoming under birdhouses and sleeping on treetops, all residing in this magical pocket deep within The Keep.

The overwhelmingly pink magi who invited you here is beaming with pride,
"I take it you aren't allergic to flowers, right?"

I'll probably edit this later but I am a great deal disappointed that we have sooo few sea/aquatic creatures!

We need more sharks! Or sea urchins! Or fish with TEETH. And fish with BEAKS.

Also I would die for whale sharks.

Whale sharks would be very cool, they're a very pretty species. More sharks in general would rule.

Yeeeeesssssss sharks are soooo awesome! I'm glad we have one at least and a few sea critters but there are SO many cool things in the sea!

On that note, especially with April Fool's coming up soon, what about a Worm On A String pet???

I don't know if this has ever been suggested before, but a stained glass dragonfly, reminiscent of a Tiffany lamp, would be a nice addition to the Artificer shop.

WŒRM... I see your worm and raise you a shark on a string. One with a very long and boopable snoot.

Hey there! I've been doing some fun research on mythical creatures in different cultures and have come across a number of lesser known ones that I think would make interesting MS creatures, whether they're replicated or used as a reference and tweaked.

Cuyancúa

This creature of Mayan mythology sports the lower half of a serpent and the upper half of a wild boar. It is said to hold dominion over all the waters on the Earth, with the ability to summon rain. Further on that, different areas in the El Salvador region say that it leaves spouts of water in its wake.

Ouroboros

I know it's listed on the front page already, but it's such a popular creature and symbol, I think it would look real cool as a MS creature!!
Spoiler

Mokélé-mbembé

A water dwelling creature whose name translates to "one who stops the flow of rivers". There are several variations of what it could possible look like, though the overall consensus is that it resembles a sauropod. I think any of the variations of this creature would made a really cool addition to the Beastiary!
