Where ever the problem lies, I hope it's fixed before the solstice event. Otherwise I'll have to send all my gifts through trade because I don't think gifting and 502 errors will mix well. T_T

It's happening again, I live in the Northeast USA. It's so bad it caused a double post in one of the Reindeer Games threads, and I get errors 80% of the time when clicking on others' eggs. It will make helping others get their thanksgiving eggs growing all but impossible for me today, which is a shame because that means I won't get reciprocal clicks on my eggs.

Haven't been able to play during the event at all, so no new amagnae for me :(

Keep getting thrown out of my account and barely able to log back in because of lag, not to mention it took me 5 minutes just to get to the forum and write this message

Tbh I've given up on the event - as soon as I got some of the new creatures - and I was lucky enough to, I know not everyone was - I was done. I've just gone back to trying to get achievements, because it's been really discouraging overall getting 502 errors clicking on eggs and having to wait 3 minutes to find out each time if that means I missed it, or got it, because I just can't get into my keep in the first place.

Some times are faster and load better (though I still get 502 errors if I try and load / click on too many people's eggs at once), and some times it doesn't matter if I only open one Magistream tab (i.e. my keep), I will get 5 502 errors in a row just trying to get there, and then keep getting them trying to breed / open tabs etc. It's very sporadic! It's hard to understand it on my end so I appreciate that it's a tricky thing to resolve on Magistream's end as well.

Currently much, MUCH worse than the Thanksgiving event, as with VilaWolf - took me 4 tries to log-in to my Keep this morning and another 3 tries to get in once I'd logged in. Don't even trust that gifts are delivering right now. :/ Can't click on anyone's Christmas event creatures. It's about a 90-95% fail rate.

Highest it's ever been.

(ETA: Also, it's been weeks and weeks now. I don't think the issue has improved at all, and instead gotten worse. I'll no longer be donating until it's fixed. Magistream has never been this bad for me since I joined over a decade ago. The events aren't predictably enjoyable, I don't know if my gifts are arriving, and I think the only official feedback we've had from Mods is 'it's not happening on my server so...' vs. 'this is the issue, and this is how we're going to fix it.' It's incredibly demoralising - it unfairly makes playing the least fun for the most active and involved members).

Can't agree enough with this, I wish I could enjoy this even but I can't, nothing has improved it's still just as bad for me, which just makes everything super unenjoyable. I really hope we get some more feedback at some point, because I do want to be active on here

As I posted on the other thread, Rosehill is aware of the issue and is trying to fix it, but it's difficult to pin down. She's already made some changes, but because the issue seems to be regional and doesn't seem to be affecting her as much, that makes it much harder for her to diagnose the problem.

Okay, now, the below is entirely my personal opinion and does not speak for other staff:
Do keep in mind that Rosehill has a life outside of Magistream and maintaining it is not her day job. MS is also a 12 year old site(meaning lots of very old, out of date code and design decisions), Rosehill is not its original developer, and Madd seems to be MIA most of the time and therefore not around to explain her original coding/hosting decisions. All of that together means that figuring out any issues with how the site runs today is almost certainly a huge nightmare.

I second this. I try not to complain because even though the lag is frustrating it's certainly not on purpose (it's frustrating for staff too!), and I'm sure Rosehill has a lot of things on her plate already. Just trying to send good vibes and hopefully the issue becomes clear and can be resolved soon! <3
