You guys got split, but "stay" won out.

That might not stay true for terribly long. The promise of giving the Scottish Parliament more power if the voted to stay in the Union has seen no efforts to actually do so. The only party in Scotland with any power other the the SNP (Scottish National Party) is Labour and they sided with keeping the union, but with increased Scottish power. With nothing being done, they are losing favor. As a result, the SNP will continue to win majority votes and since the primary goal of the SNP is Independence, each time they get a majority of seats in their Parliament, they will likely put forward a vote. A vote that people will be less likely to listen to empty promises on.

The next national elections are just in a few months. We'll see the lay of the land, then.

As far as I know Scotland is mostly pro-EU, isn't it? So if the UK leaves the EU in 2017 (which is entirely possible), I guess the independence movement will get even more favor.

Absolutely. Scotland, in general, is a lot more left leaning than the rest of the UK. They don't want to leave the EU, especially if they could have kept the deals made by Margaret Thatcher to join the EU in the first place. The UK has a lot more privileges than the other countries. Among those is the right to maintain their own currency which has helped their economy tremendously. Now, if the UK does leave the EU that means Scotland will have to negotiate for itself for certain if they were to get independence and moved to join the EU. Since Scotland would be a small country with little power, they likely wouldn't get any fancy perks.
