We've only had about 3 nights where it has dropped below freezing, which is ridiculous. Currently it is around 12 degrees C which is nearer what I'd expect in March or April.

Another first today, I saw a pair of foxes running around on the University campus this morning. They did look a bit stressed and lost, but were in good condition and well nourished.
Thank you to everyone who gifted me :)

I live along the Gulf Coast, so winter is... mild, to say the least. The lowest temps we've seen were mid-thirties Fahrenheit. Needless to say, the humidity makes things a little chillier, so I was rather excited to see the small friend in the spoiler while I was moving stuff out of my ex's house the other night.

And yes, tiny friend was only the size of a fingertip and mine are quite small. (´ ▽`).。o♡

I've been hearing an owl at night and I really want to get a clear look at it to see what it looks like for identification.
The squirrels are out in full-force so it has been war. Good news is the owl might have a food source with those. A huge raven has been hanging around, too. He's magnificent! Biggest pretty bird I've ever seen, though the neighborhood murder seems to disagree. They set up a racket and chase it through the trees...

I saw a barn owl hunting in the field next to the stables the other morning - it was daylight but only just. The owl was swooping around keeping about fence height. I feel quite blessed to have seen that :)

Haven't seen some of these, but we have coyotes, bears, mountain lions, and bobcats. We also get a lot of deer.
I've seen the coyotes on multiple occasions including observing one use the crosswalk and having one glare at me when I pointed it to my mom.
I don't think I've seen the bobcats or mountain lions but we have gotten the tracks in our yard. (A month or two ago we had a mountain lion track near our porch that wasn't there when we left.)
At one point while I didn't see it we had a slight traffic jam due to people driving slowly to take pictures of a baby bear.
Despite all this though people have outdoor cats (mainly confused as to why they let the cats roam alone with so many big carnivores)

I've seen a lot of deer including in our yard (eating our flowers) and having to wait for them to cross while driving.

The first swallows of the year have appeared. We used to have loads of these around and it was lovely to watch them swooping after gnats in the evening. Not so lovely to have to either dissuade them from nesting in the stables or put up with the mess. Last year though we saw a couple and then they disappeared. I can only conclude that something happened to most of the flock on it's migration up from Africa, though I've not followed up on it. I hope we see a few more this year.

A pair of rabbits made a nice hole in my front yard for babies, but they ended up leaving before giving birth. Such a bummer. I hope they're safe out there. We tend to have a lot of hawks roaming around.

There's a bald eagle pair that nests down the hill from us (every so often we see one of them being absolutely mobbed by crows), and in the summer the sea lions haul out on the beach and you can hear them ork-ork-orking away even several hundred feet up the hill.

Our new house has been quite a treat. Twice I've been up late at night and heard an owl outside my window. Last night my mom and I found a large slug on our back porch...it was bizarre since the only slugs I've seen are tiny ones that are usually out in the early morning.

Tonight I took my dog out, found no slugs. But on the side of our house I found two dead cicadas, including a molted shell...it was neat.
The Wishlist in my profile is outdated (I can't quite figure out how to edit it now, so many of the creatures there have already been obtained).

Gift ideas: Really am looking for a Varja Crystalwing for future breeding of pygmies and Gemdragons.

we have Many Crows (to the point where, though we're literally right near the water, it's always a surprise to see a seagull), there are coyotes in the ravine (waaaaayyyyyy too many missing cat posters T_T ), and there's a bald eagle pair that nests near-ish my house.
