Remember that there are several quests that require giving more than one egg at once, while for some people collecting all of them might take a long time (trying to catch them from the Stream but the right ones just don't want to appear, and/or breeding for those eggs fails while the player doesn't have/doesn't want to use the breeding cooldown potion).
Not long ago I used to have a number of various capricorn eggs for the Vasial's Crush quest sitting in a protected tab for several days while waiting for the stubborn sea goats to breed the remaining types.
Oh, and the Spell of Cloaking and Spell of Protection are both pretty expensive.

It was that way but people had issues with it showing eggs they had in 'Do Not Click' tabs(which meant they got clicked, though why you wouldn't want eggs clicked I'm, not sure, you can't get anything new till they hatch)
The other renter seems to be starting her own little brood herd. She got one prego straight out of auction who she thinks should have "popped" in negative time, and purposefully got two of her other mares studded. Which hey, doesn't change things much for the combined living arrangements, we don't have to feed hers and they've all got quite a bit over 300 acres to keep them busy.
On the other hand, I'm getting really tired of hearing about how the geldings are going to be this huge problem. We've got numerous enclosed areas to keep them away from the foals. Frankly, I would find it a lot less annoying if she's also talk about what the mares could do to the foals. Geldings will definitely try to kill foals 'cause they smell funny - okay, you've had foals before so I'll take your word on that, but would you also like to talk about that time our boss brought back a yearling and your three youngest mares chased her all afternoon, past night, so hard that she got caught past the fence of a completely different property with no water, on the opposite end of 300+ freakin' acres, and how she was exhausted and dehydrated AF when we got her back? No? Funny, I've also never heard her really complain about our own appaloosa mare who will kick the shit out of her herdmates at the drop of a hat, she'll be real safe to have a foal around. I think at this point she's not actually conveying her concerns so much as she's trying to subtly pressure us into getting rid of our geldings, pretending that they're the only big problem, because she doesn't like them and knows we're new to ranching and easy to push around. Not that it would work - hell knows that if the entire circle of everyone our boss knows can't get her to stop hoarding horses, then she can't either - but it really agitates me trying to figure out whether she's trying to manipulate us or not.
Also, pregnancy grosses me the fuck out in pretty much any sense possible. I'm trying really hard to ignore it and just keep the bitching to a minimum, but most days lately, we just get to work and see her "biggest" mare and I really have to wonder why the hell would you do that to an animal. She's fucking miserable. She's cooped up in the least grazeable paddock and all she can do all day is pace around the fence with her ears back and wait for the herd to come back for her. She walks around like she's got a whole coal-cart tied to her neck, and even our literally lame horse walks steadier on his feet than she does. I don't know what this horse's previous owners were thinking, but for fuck's sake, she's doing this to her other mares on purpose. Just? ?? ???

So, no lost eggs will still have to be found the old fashioned way

Spoiler
For the record: I've raised horses in mixed herds and have never seen a gelding go after a foal.
As for the mare: she's more likely to be miserable about being separated from the herd than about being pregnant unless there are health problems.
Feel free to click my entire keep. Anything I don't want to grow is protected.

Taking care of horses is so cool! They are hard to care for so I admire that you two do that.
Anyway I could see some pictures of your cuties?
