Yale: The beast with movable horns.

A Yale is a little known classical creature, and I think it would be perfect for Magistream.

I cannot sprite or draw. However, I can write! I might post a few small concepts/references of just what the horns are like, though.

~ general: Yales are powerful beasts, rarely seen by humans. Their mountainous homes are inaccessible to all but the most determined Magis, and even then it is rare that a student will see one. With iron-hard horns they keep as sharp as swords, fighting a mother Yale protecting her eggs is a dangerous endeavor. The reward, however, is great- raised by a human hand, a Yale is a trustworthy companion and defender, protecting its caretaker with a ferocity that few creatures can match.

~ egg: A small horn seems to emerge from the eggshell. Even stranger, there are marks all around the top of the shell from where the horn has scratched it!

Description: A cinnamon *HEX value 7B3F00* colored egg with a cream horn *FFEFD5 is what I am thinking* emerging from the top. Horn is mostly straight, curving slightly at the tip to where it touches the eggshell. Small, light lines would circle the top around where the horn is.

~ hatchling: This goat-like beast shies away from most creatures in its first weeks of life, the more aggressive of the species even attempting to jab them with a sharp, slightly curved horn. As time goes on, the Yale slowly grows used to the presence of others. Yales typically play with young Ibexes, competing to see which can climb higher and headbutt the hardest.

Decription: A rather goat-like look, almost a cross between a young goat and a calf. Fur is the same color as the egg, *7B3F00*. Tail is long, ending in a lighter brown tuft of fur. Eyes are a warm gold color *FFC125*, and a little large. Pose is up to the spriter. Black, cloven hooves. Cream-colored underbelly, possibly similar shade rims around the eyes/muzzle.

Horns: Horns are the same color as they are on the egg *FFEFD5*, and long- from the hatchling's head, they would stop just short of the tail. Straight until the very tip, where they curve slightly upwards. One horn would lie back, the other would point forward.

~ adult: Adult Yales are only about the size of a large goat, but don't let that fool you- they are determined fighters, capable of holding their own against a dragon if their nest is threatened. Their horns are their weapons, kept sharp by scraping them against the mountain rock. In battle, a Yale will have one horn facing forward, like a lance, while the other is laid back out of harm's way. If the attacking horn is injured, the Yale will swivel the injured horn back and attack with the uninjured one.

Male Yales sport tougher hides than females, as a result of 'jousting' tournaments during the mating season. Males will gather on a narrow ledge and charge at one another, attempting to knock the other off. Females are by no means weaker, though- she feels her offspring; or in the case of one raised by a magi, master, is threataned, she will fight until her last breath to protect them.

Description: If possible, a rearing/charging pose for the adult would be wonderful. Again, cinnamon colored fur with a lighter brown tuft at the end of the tail (and maybe a same-colored beard on males), with FFEFD5 horns. Black, cloven hooves. Eye color is the same as it was as a hatchling. Cream-colored rims around the eyes, along with a cream underbelly/muzzle.

There would be differences between males and females:

Males: The horn that faces backward would be broken. Horn shape is much the same as it was as a hatchling, straight with a slight upward curve at the tip. Chest would be furless, instead covered with a very dark gray/black hide.

Females: Both horns intact. Female's horns also take a drastic curve, looking almost like a question mark when raised. On both genders, one horn faces forward, the other is laid back.

Ha, I'm glad people like it XD

I half wondered if this could be produced by breeding an Ibex to... something else, but there's no creature in the stream that would work x3.

Ah well, it would make for a nice little thing to catch.

I also would not be opposed to any spriters trying this- I have absolutely no skill in it XD
