Coatontli are small winged serpents that in nahuatl means "small snake". The smaller cousins of Quetzalcoatl's that come in a wide variety of color depending on the surroundings they live in. Throughout the years Coatontli have evolved to show having three different wing types and even a mutation that causes some to be wingless. Most wingless Coatontli do not survive in the wild since its very susceptible to predators since they lack flight, but they are highly sought after as pets. Wingless Coatontli are one of the rarest you can come upon. Coatontli living in environments where there are little predators have developed Butterfly wings, which are very sensitive that even the slightest amount of wind will blow them away. Unlike their Feathered Wing siblings they can glide and fly smoother, making them faster but if a predator were to break one of their delicate wings they would die. Butterfly winged Coatontli are rather uncommon to see, while their Feathered Sibilings are the most common. Some Coatontli have adapted to living in the mountains or near volcanoes and other rocky areas where their wings have changed to almost Dragon like wings. They are tougher wings which can handle a fall or a fight, but they have been separated from the other Coatontli that they can only breed with other Dragon winged Coatontli. Seeing one of these is considered a Rare sighting due to the extreme environments they live in.
