Well, to be fair, the only real reason to donate at this time is to get the donation creatures, and people don't like putting money down in advance for something when they don't know how long it will take to clear up the current problem (in this case, the people that got massively egg-locked by the Snow Dragons and who now want the very temporarily available duckits).

Expanding the time window would a most likely make people more comfortable with donating to get an egg, because they're not feeling the need to scramble for their event creatures.
We have a month to get and hatch a doni creature. We have 1-4 days to get and hatch as many event eggs as we can.

EDIT:

When I say 'real reason to donate at this time' I mean the benefits. Yes, donating right now means MS stays up and online, but outside of that...

You could also make donation pets not count toward your egg limit. People will tend to gravitate towards special/holiday/limited durations eggs of course, but as other people said, taking out holiday creatures too quickly probably isn't a good idea either. Making donation creatures be 'outside the box' would solve that. They are special after all.

I know I would like to get two donation creatures at tht moment, but I've been holding off because of the duckits. On the other hand, I don't hatch eggs very fast at all, so had the duckits dissapeared too soon, I would be out of luck with them too.

I would fully support Doni eggs not counting towards Egglock, or having their own "egglock" bracket for how many you can have at once.

That's actually a really good idea. I've already said I would readily pay for more egg slots, but having separate slots for donation eggs and slots for stream eggs has the potential to greatly increase revenue. I run a shop and those orders have to come first so sometimes I miss out on donation pets because of the egg lock.

I fully support this idea, having regular eggs slots and doni egg slots is a really great idea.

All I know, is it would be good to know what ideas are going in. I'm getting paid tomorrow- but the money doesn't settle in my account until Monday- and I won't touch my card before then, or I risk over drafting. So if MS can hold out till the 15th (Woooooo. Tax Day. T_T) then I can help save the best egg place evarrr. <3

Doni eggs not counting/having their own egg slots has been mentioned at least a couple times before in this thread, so I'd guess that Tristan's probably decided either way already. Though it would be nice if he'd say what that decision was.

*edit* The already suggested list says that additional egg slots are accepted, but doesn't say anything about doni eggs having separate egg slots.

Well yeah, but that's the whole point. If I had six slots, I'd just have six duckets instead of 4. :P It wouldn't default to 4 duckits and 2 donis. Limited durations eggs> other eggs, always, that's just how the vast majority of people work. So since no specific mention of doni eggs being separate, that's why I brought it up again. That, and I have to admit that I haven't read all the thread. :derp: It just seemed like the most logical answer, and also one of the easiest to implement.

Also, we're still waiting on a goal VS amount reached update (or, not even an update realy, even an initial mention would be nice at this point!). I'm sure a lot of people base their real life monetary donations on *knowing* what the need is, rather then just blindly tossing real cash to a goal they are unsure of the status of.

Also, again, transparency would be nice here.
