Harpy could work for Voltar...

Harpies are too aggressive and evil to be allies. They're allies because they befriended the human. I can't really see a harpy befriending a human. Maybe. But my view of harpies are vicious and bloodthirsty.

well, to be fair, mermaids were nothing but demons who sang sailors to their death. disney just made them seem lovable.
centaurs were feared in mythology, because they were nothing but ruthless beasts that would kidnap human women and... errrr... do not magistream appropriate stuff to them.

...so, none of the allies we have could be considered 'friendly' in the real world, but this is the magi world!

I know, but a sphinx seems regal and strong looking, but harpies have the sharp teeth and talons and things like that. The Magistream allies don't really look that aggressive, but it would be hard to make a harpy look non-aggressive. A sphinx could easily look strong and regal, but not mean.

I'm rooting for the sphinx.
