- Porn is... porn. As long as it is not illegal (child, snuff, actual non-consent, etc.) it's perfectly fine and up to the individual to decide whether or not they wish to read/watch/write/etc.

- When I was... 11? I don't remember.

- I am pansexual with a strong preference for women so generally lesbian though I am okay with the rest sometimes. Also, the porn I watch (in particular) is specific to my tastes (I am part of the BDSM community).

- Lots of things represent people in unrealistic ways. I think it depends on the kind of porn. The stuff I watch tends to be more realistic.
Do you feel that porn is damaging to our youth?
- Yes and no. Like any media, it can encourage unrealistic values or insecurities ("I'm not as pretty as the actress - whether in something off hollywood or in porn - and so I am unhappy with myself", etc.). But I do not think it has anything inherently damaging apart from perceptions like the one I mentioned.

Erotica is just a way for artists to express themselves and others to get enjoyment from their expressions.
Porn is a way for people to get sexual pleasure by themselves/with others without having to go out and look for other means of getting off. So I can see where it is a positive thing as long as it doesn't become an obsession that impacts their life.

Depends exclusively on what you are reading/watching. There are many pornographic items that portray both women and men of looking and acting a certain way. Not just straight porn though. Many gay and lesbian porn items show men or women looking or acting unrealistic.

Not any more than anything else. Movies, tv, media in general is getting more and more sexually explicit, violent, abusive, and none of this is porn. Porn is generally watching/reading of others sexual experiences. With or without porn the typical youth will be engaging in sexual contact.

It definitely can be. For committed couples its definitely great for ideas and such, also can be easier for couples who are just beginning sexually to give their significant others clues as to what they like and dislike.

I do not see porn as a negative thing, in fact I do not mind it at all. I know Doug watches/reads/looks whatever. It doesn't necessaringly bother me. I find it rather informative and a source if new ideas. Heh
I also read when I'm feeling rather... in the mood it helps to siphon off some of the need, even if I don't do anything. Or I read it to ya know... put me in the mood so I'm ready for whatever adventure Doug and I have planned next.

Do you feel that straight porn represents women, or even men, in an unrealistic way? Doesn't all porn? Anything that follows the PWP standards (for those that don't know: Plot-What-Plot) is unrealistic. However, since most videos are made for the *ahem* quick enjoyment, its understandable.

Not really; I think I turned out just fine ;) Seriously though, I'm not saying kids should be sexually active, however providing them with awareness (i.e. sexual education) and the different kinds of preferences people may have, perhaps that will reduce the amount of hostile and close-minded individuals. Like someone else already said, there is much worse things they could be doing. I have a son, and if he becomes the age that he's sexually active, I will provide him with condoms and discuss it with him. Perhaps having his mother talk with him about it may be a "turn-off" for him, but I have medical education and being a distributor of adult novelties.

Granted, it cannot survive on sex alone, but open and active discussion on one's preferences, fetishes, likes/dislikes, limits, and interests can give you a lot of avenues. If you can discuss your intimate feelings with your spouse and trust them not to shun you, you've got a long lasting, healthy relationship (IMO). Now on the topic of friends, it all depends on your relationship with your friends. Obviously, if you have sexual tendencies when watching porn, having a group viewing session with your friends may not be a good thing (unless all parties are open to group relations and okay with it). Some people are open with their friends.
