First wild shiny encountered and caught, and the first time one of my Pokemon have had Pokerus - what a night!

I saw a friend of mine having a shiny Delphox. Mmmmmmmmmmm I want to touch it

The shiny was a Gurdurr, and then Pokerus infected a Chespin that I got over Wonder Trade. Consequently, all my Pokemon got infected with it, but how does that work?

When there is pokerus pokemon in your party and you go around it'll spread
And then your infected pokemon will gain more EVs during the time

Not just doing the time is there, the effect stays even after the virus is gone. The time span they can infect other pokémon in is just short, 24-48 hours if the pokémon is in the party.
