Cake's Creatures (Warning: Large Pictures)

Post by Cakenotlie1 »

Okay, so here I will be uploading some pictures of species I made up. Now I have a very cartoony style in general, so no harsh critiques on that matter.

The first species I have is one I made up a few months ago, called the Kylepters.

These creatures possess many magical qualities for all magi. Whether it's their thick fur for the people of Arkene, good show quality for the people of Synara city, or just being a steed in general they are always useful. The Kylepters have qualities of a goat, dragon, and cow, in the female's case. The oddest thing about them is the possession of extra organs and their reproductive methods. The male of this species is actually the one that conceives the offspring; however, the female produces milk from her udders (sp.?) The female only carries the eggs if she is paired with a male of another species. It's best not to go near a pair and their young, unless you want trouble.

Color Variations:
Arkenian (white, snowy colors)
Albino

Breedable with:
Other Kylepters
Rest is a secret. If these do get used, I want you to find out for yourselves. Hehe... I'm so evil...

More to come soon

I made them that size deliberately to get a good view of the details.

The concept is reasonably good, though a quick question and some commentary: Are they supposed to be furry dragons or wolves with bat wings? If the former you get the feel properly... if the latter the face needs some work to become more wolfish. It's too straight a line from forehead to nose. The paws need detail. You seem a bit uncertain in this drawing as to how they are supposed to be jointed. Internal detail on the wings would also help. On your top left image you need a second ear in some position on the other side of the head, as well as another horn. The tail line on the same image is very difficult to follow and isolate and should probably be cleaned a bit before shading. The right hand image you need to again, look at the mirroring of the ears. I'm not sure the far-side ear would be completely obscured.

As for whether it's magistream worthy or not, the art-concept may be (I'm rather 'meh' on portions of your write up), but as it currently stands the actual art needs a great deal of work and refinement to really be in the caliber of Magistream art, but I would have to see a full, finished version before I made a definitive call on that.

The creature is meant to be a goat-like dragon with what looks like a second pair of ears, though they are only for show. I' unfortunately, am not a good enough artist to pull off full blown magistream art, though I'd appreciate any possible new sketches made by others.
