An inverted Pink Triangle was a symbol the Nazis used during World War II to label gay men in concentration camps, with different colors for other communities.
However, nowadays, the symbol has been turned right side up, and used as a symbol for gay rights and gay pride. This is both as a remembrance for what people had to go through in the past due to their orientation, as well as to give hope that one day, things will be different, and people will be treated the same, regardless of their sexual orientation.

Name Guidelines: Name it an adjective that would describe what a symbol for freedom means to you. The progenitors are named such, as remembering the hardships and tragedies of the past, causes me to realize that through them, hope was given.
Remembrance was born on the 2011 Day of Silence, and Hope on National Coming Out Day, two important days for LGBT youth.
