The dark blue stripes of a glaucus meurin make them quite conspicuous. They remain in the upper, well-lit areas of the ocean, where they often rest on the surface of the ocean like crocodiles, taking a snap at anything that comes too close. There are few fights among glaucus meurin as there is enough space for them to live without encountering others, but they will not hesitate to attack intruders. Glaucus meurin only seek out the company of others during the breeding season in winter. Elaborate courtship rituals have been observed that include twisting dances and high-pitched singing.

Glaucus meurin, although native to Alveus, are more often found in the ocean. It takes about a decade for a glaucus meurin to reach maturity, at which point they can be several times the size of their brown cousins. Due to their size, they can only comfortably live in Pearlen, the largest lake. Adults eventually find themselves in need of space only the open ocean can provide, migrating down the river that connects that lake to the ocean. Females return to the lake in winter every five years, slowly climbing ashore by night and laying their eggs in the sand before returning to the sea.
