Wadjuto #685

General

Wadjuto are hardly ever seen. If one wishes to catch a glimpse of these beasts the best place to do so are long forgotten ruins of ancient temples and shrines mostly buried under the sands of the Etain desert. There, if luck has it, it's possible to see the wadjuto gliding over crumbled parapets, remnants of the world they once belonged in. In the ancient times the wadjuto were revered and maintained a position as guides, prophets and protectors. As time passed the people perished but the wadjuto remained. Some records tell that if a naturally silent wadjuto ever made a sound it would inflict all the pain of the loss of its people to anyone hearing its lament.

Egg

A swishing tail coils around this tan parchmented egg.

Hatchling

This charcoal colored hatchling can often be seen spreading its tiny wings in a display of mock grandeur. It is very sociable and likes spending time slithering after people. As it grows it starts to reach higher and higher until its wings get strong enough and it lifts off from the ground completely. Growing older the hatchling also gets more withdrawn and distant and starts spending more and more time alone. Anyone close to it will be overcome with an unexplainable longing of something they can't quite pinpoint.

Adult

A grown wadjuto spends most of its time gliding just above the ground or any structure it comes across. It will sometimes spend long times motionless, starting into the distance and only acknowledging company by slowly turning its piercing gaze at the intruder, who is instantly reminded of all their most painful memories. In old times it was said that the piercing gaze of the wadjuto would see into the minds of people and while staring into the distance it would be glancing on other worlds, or times long lost. It is said that a wadjuto adult used to bring serenity and balance to its people but loss twisted their power and all they are able to do nowadays is spread their pain.
