Is the script(or whatever it is) that removes stuff, actually working, because I was trying to gold mine earlier, only to discover over 200 hatchlings that were hidden in trades. I removed almost 50 by hand, but, almost an hour later the rest are *still* there(I made a post in the HWYD thread griping about hidden pets at ~2:20pm and it's now ~3:20pm).
I know it runs like, every 5 minutes or something, but that many creatures is ridiculous. And that was just on the first page(I also found some adult creatures as well), I've no idea what the rest of the pages were like.

The script checks a random take of 150 consecutive creatures each time it runs and especially now that there are six pages of creatures it thus takes longer for adults, hidden and in trade creatures to be removed. It's entirely possible that the script checks the same or at least partially the same creatures on different times it runs, as well. :orly:

Fun note, those hatchlings I mentioned 5+ hours ago, the hidden ones. They're still there. :derp: And on the first page. I don't tihnk the script it catching them, because they have not moved. Like, at all.

The logs show that the scripts are working just as they should.

The way the script in question works is basically this:
1) Check how many creatures there are in the IFN (current example: 5124)
2) Reduct that number by 150 (= 4974)
3) Generate a random number between 0 and the number gotten from part 2 (= any number between 0 and 4974, the hidden hatchlings are at around 525 and onwards for a couple hundred)
4) Run the cleaning script for 150 creatures starting from the number gotten from part 3.

It does this every time the script is run. Currently there are over 5000 creatures on the IFN, so the probability of it randomly generating just the number that would remove all those hidden hatchlings is pretty slim.

Usually large masses of hidden or in-trade creatures get removed by another script that removes those creatures that have been in the IFN for 2 days, for the very reason that the random take can't catch all of the ones that should be removed and making a script that would check every single creature on the IFN in one go would probably blow up the universe.

(I ran the script manually for the creatures starting from number 521 and it removed 150 hidden hatchlings in one go. I don't know if I caught all the in-trade ones, but at least one batch is now out of the IFN.)

Others on the same host have reported that .tk addresses that have previously worked can't now be accessed with AT&T's connection at all and same goes for accessing via proxy. There was some other ISP who was blocking them as well but I don't remember the name of that from the top of my mind.

The host says that AT&T are blocking all of their servers and the only one who can do anything about the situation is AT&T. :(

I'm exploring possibilities for a different host to make the site more accessible. It's my understanding that many other free hosting providers are also blocked by AT&T so I'm looking for one that isn't. I'm not completely ruling out paid hosting either. I'll post updates once I know a bit more myself. ^.^

Thank you Rosehill *hugs*

I've tried talking to AT&T/BellSouth, but all they will tell me is that there is an issue with security and that they have determined that your site is not safe. However, when I ask them why, they don't have or won't give me an answer. Personally, I think that they don't understand click sites and all the links make them think 'malware' or 'hacking' or something, and they're just being paranoid. From what I've been able to get out of the techs, the decision is being made by some non-tech bureaucrat who is more interested in covering his butt than understanding that there is a problem.

I hope you can figure out something soon, because this is slowing down my game in a HUGE way.

G'luck,
Cin

Since the host that IFN is currently on offers free hosting services there are always people who exlpoit that and create malware sites or sites with illegal downloadable content etc. so from what I've gathered AT&T have blocked all of the host's servers "just in case" in order to prevent the malicious/illegal sites. The remaining 95% of the host's users suffer because their sites are blocked as well because of the tiny minority who make those malicious sites.

I dunno but personally about ready to drop AT&T they don't only block these sites it took months for a local government site to be removed from their "blocked sites"

Which made no sense to me.
