Krampen Sorting

So, I know this is somewhat subjective - and each person may have their own 'method', but, maybe those methods will help me decide.

I mostly sort my critters based on 'type'. Cats all go together, whales, foxes, 'dog' based creatures together, etc. (Even if some of them sort of stretch the imagination a little. . .lol) Only a few types have got their own tabs when they started taking over the 'general' tab.

But, I'm confused when it comes to the Krampen. *WHAT* exactly are they? Dragons? Too furry. Wyrms? Same thing. Going through all my 'types' and they don't really fit any 'type' of creature I can think of. Even the wolphyns I can classify as a 'griffon', even if it's not. . .quite. . .not not. But the Krampen? Um. . .No idea what one would call it? (Furry snake with legs? Lol)

What is everyone else sorting theirs as?

Considering that they're based on krampus and the townsfolk call them demons, demonic/fell would be my guess if I where trying to categorize them. I'd place alongside things like pandorums, hellhounds and other semi-unnatural abominations and monsters.

I gave up trying to classify MS critters.. I sort based on release number.. koi is #1, phoenix #2
Collection 500 tab is creatures numbered 1 - 500
SBX 50 tab are extra creatures number 1 - 50

I started out sorting canine, feline, equine, etc.. but the release of the oblivion pillage beast was my breaking point. How do you classify an egg that does absolutely nothing,. and whose entire description says "In all honesty, this egg kind of sucks."

Mine is going or on the Christmas Creatures tab or on the Gift born events tab...
I've created tabs related to events, so everything related to that event goes there. Is easier in sorting the creatures that don't fit on the basic canines, birds, equines, etc
That's how I do it.

I too gave up on trying to sort my pets by categories I just sort them by release year. But I agree with @blockEdragon they are kind of demonic/nightmarish looking.

One of my tabs is just labeled "Wow" and it's where I put things I can't categorize. :-)

I have mine in my "Spook City" tab (a place from a book), along with some Halloween creatures and other.

I have a tab for event critters by season (winter, summer, spring, autumn) so i just put them in my winter event tab. But for creatures where I'm not sure where to put them (or don't have enough of to make their own tab/am not armying/collecting), I stick them in my "misc" tab

I sort mine, well..... Like an absolute mess xD used to be like hatchlings, adults, event creatures, and then a couple special tabs for stuff I liked like crystalwings and Nikollus
But it's s mess now

Yeah. I totally agree it hits a point where it's impossible to 'categorize' properly. -.- I'm rapidly reaching that point myself and still desperately trying to keep a system of some sort. rotflol Mostly it's working. With some of the creatures I take a 'stab' at what I think they are mostly and go with that. Like tossing the Chupacabra creatures into 'Bears'. Not exactly bear. but. . .sort of - faintly - resembling bears. If you squint. lol

I like the numbers idea - but my brain doesn't do well with numbers and its too easy for me to forget them as soon as I look away.

I've thought of doing it per event, but then ones like the foxes, and cats, and rabbits, I end up wanting in with the rest - and that breaks the scheme. (And makes my head implode because of the cross-referencing needed. lol)

Thank you for the input. It's much appreciate. Also makes me feel better for not having a 'better' method of sorting. lol Sounds like we're all just sort of winging it.

Ok. For Krampen, I may satisfy myself with tossing them into "Misc" for now until/unless I think of something better. They can sit with the Koalas from last year.

Kinda makes you wish we had unlimited folders - and could just organize each new release into their own folders. Though that seems odd for the ones you'll only ever have 2-3 of. heh
