Well I tried to turn my fella to a female so I could name him Blue in honour of Jurrasic Park only to discovered there is gender dimorphism!

Behold! The very not blue raptor!

I will name her Snowball. <3 :bounce:

They also have variations in their descriptions.

Lakiran:
Spoiler
Hatchling:
Any magi looking to raise a lakiran kalistavri must first ensure they have an adequate supply of salmon or other fish available. Young hatchlings are incredibly food motivated and do not yet understand the difference between common pond minnows and companion dragon koi. Fortunately for the koi they are rather clumsy fishers, though more than a few magi have had moments of terror watching a flock of hungry juvenile lakiran kalistavri hurtle full speed towards the lake in an attempt at a snack.

Adult:
Lakiran kalistavri are rather small, about the size of a chicken when fully grown, with long, graceful tail feathers. They are quite fast runners, often dashing into the tall grass to play impromptu games of chase with other kalistavri. As adults they are more comfortable when separated from their flock mates but will insist upon sleeping with their magi should overnight trips take them from the flock. It is also not uncommon to see a well respected wand maker with a grumpy kalistavri roosting upon their head, hissing and screeching whenever they feel someone has come too close for comfort. In such situations it is best to stay well back and respect the kalistavri's desires, for their sharp claws and beaks can rend fingers as easily as fish bellies.

General:
Making their homes in the area around Lake Lakira, these small birds can often be seen hunting koi and other fish in the lake. They are also common companions among the makers of staffs and wands for the use of their feathers during the enchanting process, in particular wands intended for use by healers. This is because the feathers of the kalistavri absorb and contain the magic of any magical creatures they eat, thus allowing the birds to heal themselves and others. The more magic they absorb, the stronger the enchantments that can be created, thus making them valuable companions. This is not without drawbacks though, as magi who wish to raise lakiran kalistavri as companions must be careful to train them to only eat wild koi or non magical fish, lest heartbreak follow. Some magi have begun conducting experiments to see if kalistavri can absorb the effects of magical potions but so far the results have been inconclusive.
Razan:
Spoiler
Hatchling:
Any magi looking to raise a razan kalistavri must first ensure they have an adequate supply of meat available. Young hatchlings are incredibly food motivated and do not yet understand the difference between common lizards and companion rose imps. Fortunately for the imps they are rather clumsy hunters, though more than a few magi have had moments of terror watching a flock of hungry juvenile razan kalistavri hurtle full speed towards the rose garden in an attempt at a snack.

Adult:
Razan kalistavri are the largest of the kalistavri when fully grown, with long, gracefull tail feathers. In such situations it is best to stay well back and respect the kalistavri's desires, for their sharp claws and beaks can rend fingers as easily as lizard tails.

General:
Making their homes in the Razan jungles, these small birds can often be seen hunting young anaugi and other lizards in the trees nears rivers and streams. They are also common companions among the makers of staffs and wands for the use of their feathers during the enchanting process, in particular staffs intended for use in battle. This is because the feathers of the kalistavri absorb and contain the magic of any magical creatures they eat, thus allowing the birds to wield fire magic to protect themselves and others. The more magic they absorb, the stronger the enchantments that can be created, thus making them valuable companions. This is not without drawbacks though, as magi who wish to raise kalistavri as companions must be careful to train them to only eat wild anaugi or other non magical food, lest heartbreak follow. Some magi have begun conducting experiments to see if kalistavri can absorb the effects of magical potions but so far the results have been inconclusive.
Red Eyed:
Spoiler
Hatchling:
Any magi looking to raise a red eyed kalistavri must first ensure they have an adequate supply of salmon or other fish available. Young kalistavri are incredibly food motivated and do not yet understand the difference between common pond minnows and companion fabari or goldfish. Fortunately for the fabari they are rather clumsy fishers, though more than a few magi have had moments of terror watching a flock of hungry juvenile red eyed kalistavri hurtle full speed towards the pond in an attempt at a snack.

Adult:
Red eyed kalistavri are very small, about the size of a quail when fully grown, with long, graceful tail feathers.

General:
Making their homes in the area around the Keep, these small birds can often be seen hunting fabari and other fish in the pond They are also common companions among the makers of staffs and wands for the use of their feathers during the enchanting process, in particular items for those who do not wish to be seen openly communicating. This is because the feathers of the kalistavri absorb and contain the magic of any magical creatures they eat, thus allowing the birds to communicate silently when in danger. The more magic they absorb, the stronger the enchantments that can be created, thus making them valuable companions. This is not without drawbacks though, as magi who wish to raise kalistavri as companions must be careful to train them to only eat wild fabari or non magical fish, lest heartbreak follow. Some magi have begun conducting experiments to see if kalistavri can absorb the effects of magical potions but so far the results have been inconclusive.
