I didn't see a thread yet, I'm assuming we all forgot in the busy rush of the competition.
Buuut - a tick less than two hours to go, so hey, bring on the excitement!
I swear, if it's another potato... xD

Hatchling
Suricata hatchlings are small enough to curl up in a magi's cupped palms, and it's a position they tend to enjoy. Within a few days of hatching, they're alert and nosy, investigating every new sound and movement. They grow quickly and can be taught even from a young age to help protect items or other creatures, or to carry messages. Adult suricata teach their hatchlings to be watchful as soon as possible, and magi will often turn around to find an entire family watching them, all lined up in a row on their hindquarters.

Adult
Adult suricata are lithe creatures capable of fitting through remarkably tiny holes and cracks. Social and friendly, they prefer to live in family groups and all adult members will help with the raising and defense of hatchlings. Wild or domesticated, suricata are wary of strangers and will always alert those they trust to an unknown presence, whether this is their family unit or their magi. However, their curious natures get the better of them and if treated respectfully, they will quickly become used to strangers and insist on inspecting any pockets, bags, or boxes. Suricata can be trained to keep watch on other people and though they can't talk, they do seem to be intelligent enough to convey basic information through body movements and a wide range of vocalizations.

General Description
With their lean bodies, alert nature, and ability to blend in no matter what the surroundings or time of day, suricata make excellent spies, message carriers, and alarms. Many merchants use suricata to watch their stalls, shops, and warehouses, and those magi who don't want their business known often pass secret information through suricata messengers. When paired with a bigger creature, suricata can be used to help guard sheep and cattle, as they know almost instantly when something changes in their given territory and will alert their larger partner. Suricata themselves are not necessarily good or evil, but they don't often discriminate between who uses their services unless they're treated badly.

Re: [#918] August Midmonth Doni - Suricata
Not totally sure it's a Meercat. It looks more lemurish to me at the hatchling stage.
Waiting on the adult before purchasing.
