I was going through the click threads and seeing the walls of certain species when they had just released and this headcanon dawned upon me.
Headcanon that Magi have to register new companions they hatch/acquire (after all, unregulated powerful magical creatures would be a mess, and it's canon that Assassin Birds are regulated in this way), meaning that during events the poor record-keepers have to deal with people like me coming to them near-hourly with new sets of 4 [insert event creature here].

On Creature Hoarding
I leave and come back to this website very sporadically, but also TEAM PUVIA until the day I die
Re: On Creature Hoarding
As creatures purchased from shops are registered as well, I imagine the bigger headache would be hordes of magi turning up to register creatures that are very obviously from the Black Market.

Can I register my 1.5k spiders as a single lump-sum, or do I have to have individual papers for each and every single one of them?

Re: On Creature Hoarding
I personally never saw the appeal to hoarding, while I do have large amounts of some creatures that I really love, like hipponoxes, I try not to have more than I can come up with names for xD Otherwise it's just a wall of identical nameless sprites taking up scroll space in my keep.
Alicia, Fenris, and Hattie, guardians of my beasties.
Sometimes I draw things.
I was Wolfcub, and answer to Wolf, FennecFyre, or Fennec.

I didn't get it either, then I sort of ended up getting a partially unexpected windfall of like 800 spiders at once. I already had like 200ish from Halloween, so I figured I may as well roll with it and get as many of the things as I can.FennecFyre wrote:I personally never saw the appeal to hoarding, while I do have large amounts of some creatures that I really love, like hipponoxes, I try not to have more than I can come up with names for xD Otherwise it's just a wall of identical nameless sprites taking up scroll space in my keep.
I'm going for that record now, though it almost feels like cheating to pick a critter that a good portion of the site can't bear to look at much less hoard.
On the subject of the thread, I figure the only critters that're registered are things that could be potentially dangerous/harmful, things with medically significant powers, or other special cases. The assassin bird mentioning that all of them are registered makes me think it's more an exception, not the rule.
I don't know why a pond full of koi fish or a winged cat or something would necessarily need to be registered, unless I'm out of the loop and those are capable of torching villages.

Re: On Creature Hoarding
If the record keepers want my hoard of 2k+ Telvian Panthers registered their welcome to try and do it themselves. Ain't no way I could round them all up.
They're cats after all.
They're cats after all.
