I think that's the thing that bothers me about these - they're very plain. When I think "earth" i'm thinking rocks (including gems), dirt, sand, plants, and trees (although "trees" is covered by the Wood element already). They don't seem to have any connection to "Earth" at all besides being brown. There isn't really anything about them that distinguishes them from a normal dog.
Granted, since there are separate elements for Fire, Metal and Wood I can see why it would be harder to make a creature "Earth" themed without getting too far into either of those.

I know I personally was expecting something that looked very earth-themed for the doni, I can't say anything for others but I can understand the disappointment. Maybe there isn't THAT much you can do with "Earth Dog" but "Wood Horse" still ended up looking very wood-themed.


I think the Taiyang would have been a great creature to add to Remy's shop or the Stream, but it doesn't really seem to fit with the theme.

I was expecting something like the Timber Wolf. That's more of a year of the wood dog thing. But, something like it. Earth colored just doesn't do it for me. And I guess that's fine. I don't really need another doni army.
