December Mid-month - Borean Chirrups

Postby RobotChimera » December 14th, 2017, 8:13:32 pm

Have a feeling it's going to be winter themed, a lot of previous December donis seem to be ice-related.

A bird would be nice, but i'd love to see a lemming.

Looks like it is a bird! Or not.

Borean Chirrups.. So maybe a borean wolf... with wings? I mean, that would technically be a Simurgh.

Edit: Is it just me, or do the wings on the egg kinda look like Roc wings?

Maybe it's kinda like a gryphon, only with a wolf head and front paws. So it would basically look like the gryphons on Magistream with the head of a wolf and the two front legs belong to a wolf. The back legs and the wings would resemble a birds. Maybe a sparrow's wings?

I love imagining an egg fluttering away from a magi trying to keep it in a safe spot. XD

I'm gonna assume it's a bird from the name which isn't exactly breaking new grounds but I'll take it over X but with wings any day.

1.

Even though the Borean chirrup hatchlings do not yet have the powers the adults have, they can still send a flurry of snow several feet into the air, much to the delight of their human companions. After a day of playing in the snow, even the most playful chirrup hatchling needs food and rest. Food is easily found as the Borean chirrups' main source of food is the icicles hanging under the eaves of any building, though they have been found to have a special affinity for strawberry ice cream. Many a magi will happily offer a soft pocket or even the hood of their robes to a tired chirrup hatchling.

Looks like a bat to me.
Or maybe a tiny dragon.

It looks kinda like a wolf-bat to me. The face looks kinda canine-like. There's no denying that the wings are bat-like, however.

Here's the male hatchling sprite; doesn't look like there's any gender dimorphism in hatchlings.
These are so cute!

Ice bats? :yey: I was going to go to bed but I think I'll stay up a little later and try to get a peek at an adult. They look promising so far.

Ooh, looks batlike for sure. I'm liking it so far!

The egg description is my favorite part.

Okay, I'm so glad I had extra crystal shards left over from getting the Frost Unicorn and was able to get this beauty since they are adorable.
