Have you ever taken like a number of years or months off from magistream and realized that you've missed events from the time you were inactive and that nearly everyone you used to know is either A: not very active or B: no longer seen on the site at all.
Well I have and to be honest I regret taking a break from the site cause It feels like coming back to an entirely different community.
I am honestly just curious to see if anyone else has had a situation where they missed new releases because they were gone for a long time.
Has anyone ever regretted taking a hiatus from MS?

Re: Has anyone ever regretted taking a hiatus from MS?
I took a hiatus for about 3 years. I don't really remember the reason but I guess one day I decided to come back and check out what was happening and it was a bit overwhelming. The most overwhelming things were probably the events and quests that I missed. Creatures can always be purchased later, but as somewhat of a completionist, it especially bugs me to see the lack of badges on my profile.
Yeah, I get what you mean about the new community. There are a lot of people who are still around, but many of my old friends left or barely play, so everything is a bit less active now.
I'm glad I came back and got to participate in all the competitions though

My computer died forever ago so I got locked out of internet games for at least 3 years. It kills me on all the events I missed

Re: Has anyone ever regretted taking a hiatus from MS?
Sometimes I regret taking the hiatus (it was quite long too, about 4 years i think?), but I had a really hard period in my life so I had to focus on that. I got everything I missed and wanted when I came back, so I'm happy about that. My priorities on the site changed too, I'm more casual and don't really care about owning all possible species - I just collect the stuff I like and I enjoy organizing raffles

Re: Has anyone ever regretted taking a hiatus from MS?
I took a Hiatus for a few months (I would check in occasionally but that is it) and regretted it so much. I had work a lot of the time but kept seeing all these creatures I wanted and missed out on and it made me sad Especially the event ones that because I missed one part I wasn't able to participate in the later ones.

Re: Has anyone ever regretted taking a hiatus from MS?
I took a break for a year or so myself. When I did come back, I was rather disappointed at everything that I missed while I was away however, I remember that it is only a game and there are always things to look forward to down the road.
Rather than dwell on the negative of missing things, look for the silver lining, what is to come.

Re: Has anyone ever regretted taking a hiatus from MS?
I took a hiatus for about eight months or so, I think. During that time I just visited occasionally but I don't think I missed out that much. Due to changes in RL I can't spend so much time on MS as before which basically means I can't mine anymore. So I am somewhat forced by RL to not be as dedicated as before. I still really like the game and the art, though, and the community.

I started in 2009, played around for a few months and quit until September of this year. I'm a bit behind on events.

Re: Has anyone ever regretted taking a hiatus from MS?
I was only active for like a year ): Once my son was born the days were a whirlwind and I'd be more disappointed catching the event on the last given day and only being able to get 1, maybe 2 creatures if I'm lucky, than if I'd missed it all together.
I heavily regret it but some things are just too hard.
