New creatures 819 & 820

October 18th 2017: Creatures 819, and 820 have been released.

The creatures are permanent stream creatures and will be able to breed eventually.

The creatures will flood the stream up to and including October 20th.

Dusk Hydrosaurus

This taupe gray egg has a crest of soft spines poking out of the top.
Distant relatives of the anaugi, hydrosauri are fairly large lizards that possess limited control over water. They love to swim and can often be found paddling their way through shallow streams in the rainforests where they live. Their magic allows them to run across river surfaces and lift tendrils of water that they can use to lash out predators. Their powers only encompass a small area around the lizard, and it can be difficult to prod these languid creatures into action unless they are under threat, but most magi appreciate them as companion creatures. It is not uncommon to see a student walking around the Keep with a young hydrosaurus perched on his or her shoulder like a parrot. The claws, sloughs, spines, and bones of hydrosauri can all be used in potions having to do with water magic.

The real animal they're based off is pretty cool looking so this will probably be at least a little cool.

Seeing the new eggs in the stream surpised me a little! didn't expect them

They are called Dusk and Dawn Hydrosaurus!

and they are gonna be lizards when they hatch? how cool! i love lizards

Hydrosaurus hatchlings are wary creatures but can eventually warm to a patient magi. Juveniles are shy by nature but will not hesitate to give a nasty nip to anything that upsets them, be it another creature, a stray hand, or a distasteful curtain. Once it gains some weight, a hatchling tends to become more relaxed and will sit calmly on its magi's shoulder while they go about their daily chores. Hydrosauri are not especially playful companions, and are better known for having steady dispositions than curiosity. However, no hydrosaurus will turn up its nose at the offer of the species' favorite treats: fresh bananas.
