This site is too complicated

Post by Midnightkunai »

I think this site is great don't get me wrong its just that there's wayy to many options in the forum and it makes the new user so confused. Another thing I have against this place is that most of the cool creatures are not obtainable towards the newer ppl welp that's just my opinion about it who know if anyone even care to read this...oh welp

Have you checked out the FAQ? There's also the Rules. If you can't find your answer there, you can post a question in the Support forum. Moderators are also available via PM if you're unsure about something.

As for the creatures, for retired pets, try posting an LTB (Looking to buy) thread in the Kancha.
If you see me posting nonsense, give me a smack and tell me to go write.

A lot of the good stuff being hard to get is the point of playing, why play the game if you can get everything in your first day?

Game progression is necessary and for it to exist some things have to be rarer then others.
while MS dose need more rares that aren't just retired or donation critters, rarity itself is vitally important to the game.

Personally, I agree with the new planyers. There are too many unobtainable creatures. Retired Donation Creatures should be re-released again every so often. It's all well and good to say collect gold and buy them from other players, especially considering the prices that other players charge for them. Well I'd rather donate to the SITE and not another player who already has a ton of gold. Some players can't spend hours and hours and hours mining for gold.
I am in the process of moving house, so I will not be around much for the foreseeable future.

Oh sure, I agree with ya there, I personaly think the site needs more rares obtained through actual game-play and it's one of magistream's larger flaws.

While I totally agree that there needs to be another way to obtain retired donation pets, I just want to play devil's advocate and point out that you can donate to the site by purchasing current donation pets and trade those for older ones.

Sure, that's a possibility.. a very small one. And think about it.. how many current donation pets would I have to buy to obtain a m/f pair of golden and purple elder crystalwings? 20? 50? 100? Remember we're talking REAL MONEY here; doing that would be more expensive than trying to goldmine for the several millions worth of gold.

Personally, I think that idea is totally not happening. Not to mention that I doubt someone with elder crystalwings would be willing to sell them for current DPs.

Old donation pets can breed now, it costs shards but it means more old DPs end up in circulation, and they're often cheaper than SB ones. Almost all DPs are obtainable, and a fair number of old event creatures have been reintroduced. Goldmining, interacting on the forums, and trading are good ways of acquiring funds if you don't want to pay RL money.

While I understand that the site might be confusing, all new sites tend to be confusing before you've got the hang of them, I don't think MS is too complicated (then again I've been here 7-something years). Many, many older creatures are obtainable, either through buying them from other players, or through grab bags during site-wide events. It just might take longer than if they were readily available, and if they were, they wouldn't be rare or worth the effort.

What options on the forum are making you (or anyone else) confused? Everything is clearly labelled, either with the actual forum title or in the subtitle.

Also, please point out specific instances of confusion. It's easier to fix issues if it's known what they are.

A blanket "everything is confusing" is vague and unhelpful at best - it points out no actual issues to be fixed (and makes no attempt to explain why it is/could be an issue), which lays the directive to find the problems not at the feet of the person (or persons) who claims they are there, but at the feet of the staff who might not even see them (or else things might already be changing) due to people usually being blind to problems within their work.

Every creature on site is obtainable by all players in some fashion. It may not be the fashion you want, but you can still obtain it. Now, I do agree that an all-SB goal is going to be impossible because chances are if you don't already own an SB elder crystalwing you probably never will without a rerelease.
