Really like these sprites, though I'm neurotic and dislike creatures you can only get from breeding. Kinda wish the opal had more of that rainbow shimmer to it, but these are still very pretty.

some of my new favorite creatures! so what process did you guys go through in deciding the gemstone color? I mean there are thousands of gemstones. And will there be more gemstones in the future? even if I am very happy with all of them

Thunderstorm struck and I wanted to get new eggs to the infirmary because I'll be away all day
Had to use some chocolate because super slow hatchers
But I got a 0,01% out of it~~~ And that also was my only male

But that Peridot plus Tanzanite pairing equaling Alexandrite makes my eye twitch.

I prefer even gens for the most part, or being able to breed an SB to a 1st Gen for a new one.

Even more, though, if all of the hybrids are even gen for the most part and that last color goes off the beaten path with the generation weirdness it makes me twitchy - lol.

I'm going to have to figure out how many of each of what I want to breed these nicely without my brain exploding.

They started out as a birthstone concept, but I changed that partway through because I wanted more farir-like breeding projects. So I picked eight of the gemstones that worked best.

I don't know if there will be more of these in the future, but it's nice to see the participation this breeding project has sparked, so I'd definitely like to do more multigenerational breeding schemes.

I like even gens, but if the peridots can breed with themselves to make more, I'll just breed a 2nd gen peridot to get an even-gen alexandrite.

I grew up two of my Peridots and they show up as breeding partners for each other. Didn't try breeding them though.

EDIT - hatched some eggies and bred them, got a Peridot.
