It seemed in the beginning that the black market opened every other month. Now Alethin appears once a month. Their's no real mystery anymore other than what they have available. Why not make it a permanent shop and just swap out the items when needed?

No, he's been pretty consistent on the 'once every month' thing.

He missed May, probably due to the fact that Magiversary was happening at the time and would have been to many things at once, and then missed August(hey, even he needs a vacation once in a while :p). That's two months. Otherwise, he's always been in every month.

And he's a roaming shop cause it's the BLACK MARKET, you know, where people hawk things illegally. Ofc he can't/won't stick around, he'd get caught.

I like it MUCH better as a once-a-month thing with the mystery of which critters will it be. What's the point of one more regular shop? We've got plenty of those.

Well, I'd like a 'magic shop'.. somewhere to buy potions/items ALL THE TIME.

A potion shop would be cool, I just don't want it to have any of the current/past potions (call me a masochist, I'm one of those people that actually enjoy grinding in games, even on this site, half of the fun is mining enough gold to buy those elusive/expensive creatures and having that goal).

Maybe a witch's shop where she brews up one potion per season in her cauldron and shows up at random times on random days (perhaps an hour on a random thursday, then five hours two weeks later on a tuesday), things like a potion that would make a creature "forget" their family and leave a lineage or become parentless (but at a very premium price, something like 100k+, doni's not affected).

I haven't been around long enough to say if that's a good idea or not, but it sounds fun for sure

I'm all for mystery of items but I'd prefer a more predictable time; while I try to check MS every day, there are days I am not in town or sick or just cannot for whatever reason but I would do my best to make time for the Black Market. I know it's as easy as checking the forums/shops but that isn't always easy for me what with all of the issues I have going on.

I'm not saying it has to be this exact date but maybe a news announcement a week or so ahead saying we've seen Alethin on the path to us or something or that there are rumours of it.

For now, it seems to be the beginning of the month so I'll hedge my bets on that.

It seems to show up every 29/30 days and then stays for 7. So it should be back in the beginning of March. My current guess for when it'll appear next is March 2nd, my birthday. I don't know if there's any specific pattern to what time it arrives and leaves, though, other than around late night or early morning (in regards to PST/EST, anyway).

This most recent time, the black market arrived on the 31st, 30 days after it's previous appearance on the 1st.

Looks like the Black Market re-appears on 21-day interval counting from the day after it's gone (I'm not sure if the longer periods in May and August mean anything).

I also prefer that it is not open all the time. I feel like the eggs (sometimes) and potions are something that should be more rare, and the mystery of it all makes it so much more fun. And I'm always buying stuff from the shops, which makes it easy enough to check if it's there or not.
