Community Questions (from a newbie)

New member, here! Looking forward to engaging more in the community. I've read through the FAQ but I feel like I may have missed some things...
For example, is it okay to go to any user's Creatures and click their eggs? I know that some people specify in their signatures if they only want hatchlings so I'm not sure if you should only click if you're asked. Also, what do I do about the users in my Creature's recent clicks? Should I give them clicks in return or just ignore it?
Another question I have is: why are people giving me gifts? I know it has to do with the event and getting a badge but I don't think I've done anything that would make people want to give me anything. And if I were to randomly gift someone, what eggs make good gifts? Should I only give them something from their Wishlist or is anything appreciated?

I personally only will click creatures in a magi's main keep or if they have a tab labeled "growing" or have otherwise indicated they would like certain creatures clicked. I do try and not click creatures at collectible percentages (0.00, 99.99, 100) in case the owner wants to freeze them. I will sometimes PM a magi to alert them to such a creature's status.
As for giving gifts, we like to give gifts! lol There are a few events during the year when we get to gift other magi and many of us plan ahead for months to give out these gifts. :-) It is a good idea to go off a magi's wish list, but limited event creatures like the crystalwings are usually welcome. I personally figure if they feel they have enough, they can always sell it and use the gold to buy something else.

If you feel uncomfortable with clicking creatures in a person's keep, you could always just click creatures that are posted in the click threads and/or the offsite nurseries.

I sometimes click things in a person's keep, but only adults and/or eggs. I never click hatchlings, since you never know if someone may want them to stay as hatchlings and just haven't gotten a chance to hide/protect them yet. I also don't ever click eggs that are at 0.00%, since I'm never sure if said user plans to freeze the egg at that percentage or not. ^^

As for returning recent clicks, that's totally up to you. You don't have to and it's not frowned upon or anything if you don't return clicks. Some people actually go out of their way to not click on creatures of people who they feel never click their eggs and that's their choice. I personally want all the gold I can get haha! I also never check my recent clicks, since I never have the time to return all of them. And at the same time, I never expect people to check their recent clicks and come to click my things in return.

I find that posting my eggs to the click threads and hatcheries works best and if an egg is close to hatching, I'll send it out in a tweet and post it to facebook to help it along to hatch.
