I didn't see any threads like this on the first five pages, so I am gonna go for it. Thought it would be interesting to hear everyone's opinion.
So, how do you prefer your creatures? Do you prefer your creatures to be entirely blank: unbred, unamed, untouched? Only care about specifics (like donis)? Why? I know on many pet sites this is a big thing for many people. It can even change the price of the pet on the market.
I guess I am ingrained from previous pet sites because I want even my stream creatures in my tabs to be unbred. When I finish breeding for all the types of hybrids from a pair, I'll move them to my sales tab. I prefer the blank slate look for my displayed "collection" of creatures. With hybrids, I want them to be generation 1... unless of course they can't be. I am not really a clean person or anything, but I prefer the look of it. It just looks more appealing to me.
I've added a poll so we can keep track of how many members prefer a certain way of owning creatures.
How do you prefer your creatures?
Re: How do you prefer your creatures?
I honestly don't understand people's obsession? Fascination? Desire? Dunno the right word, but I never understood the whole need to have creatures be completely unbred and such. I get that it's personal preference and all but for me personally, I don't care about all of that. I mean, if a creature is named, been bred a hundred times and has 60 offspring, is like a 80th gen itself and has an uncle named Bob... as long as it's a creature I want, then all of that is irrelevant to me.
The only thing that I'm a bit more picky with, is lineaged creatures. I love them, but if there's a certain creature I need/want, I'll tend to skip over lineaged ones. Reason being that I want to breed more of them eventually and breeding with a lineaged creature only creatures more lineage members, which I might not want to do right then. :3
For example, if I have a Male Flecked Sceap, I would want an unlineaged Female Flecked Sceap, in order to breed more unlineaged babies. Once I have a pair that I can effectively breed more unlineaged babies with, THEN I won't mind if the next Flecked Sceap I get are lineaged or not.
For all the other creatures, I honestly don't care. If some people want to challenge themselves and make the game harder, by only getting a certain type of creatures (as an example, they ONLY want parentless ones), then if it makes them happy, go for it. I prefer to play my games on the easiest settings, since I don't like being frustrated.

I have creatures in my Nursery Tab to be clicked on!

Re: How do you prefer your creatures?
I prefer parentless (except when they're donis or breedable limited editions) which is odd because I don't care about parentless creatures at all in my other adoptable games (DragCave and Flight Rising). I also don't like families/lineages in general.
I don't mind names as long as I like the names. I tend not to name things because of how much it depricates the value though.
As for wanting something that has never been bred, that is the oddest thing to me, I couldn't live my life like that haha.
I also don't care about percentages in freezing.

Re: How do you prefer your creatures?
For the most part I want only parentless creatures, because I like to do my own breeding. But I don't mind if they've been named or bred.. unless I'm buying it to make a gender change, which of course means that it can't have offspring.
I will buy 1st gen Donation creatures for my collection.. particularly the really old ones that are impossible to find (or afford). But once I have a pair of 1st gens, they'll never be bred because folk don't want to buy 2nd gens.
But my primary focus is usually on Lineaged creatures. I'm constantly buying/breeding/gifting lineaged creatures, because my goal is to have 1 member from every available family on MS. Plus I collect Progenitor pairs and create new families.

Re: How do you prefer your creatures?
I don't really care that much on what generation the creature is. If it's parentless I'm willing to pay more money, but that's mostly because people ASK for more.
I do prefer unnamed, but if I NEED the creature, names aren't going to stop me. I don't care if they've been breeding or how many offspring they already have.
I have a thing for <1% though. I just like seeing that I caught the creature right out of the egg lol
I avoid lineaged because I'm scared I'll break the family rules on accident.

Re: How do you prefer your creatures?
As a general rule I genuinely don't care about generation, bred, not bred, with offspring, without offspring, etc.. The only thing I'm "picky" on is when I buy donations, I don't want those named (they tend to be a bit more pricey to rename and I don't always have a whole lot of of gold x3). But for anything else... I honestly have no problem receiving a fifth generation inbred creature with fifty offspring, particularly if it's one of the creatures I hoard.
I only ever breed lowest gen possible for other people if SB isn't possible at all, though. I know not everyone cares, but enough people do where I feel like it's nicer to try and get low gen creatures ^^;. I also don't seek out low gen/crazy generation creatures, but during gifting events and such I have no problem owning them, and if/when I do open up looking to buy threads I do accept lower gen creatures.
I do like to try and get low percentage hatchlings from events, but I also don't necessarily care if I catch it at higher percents if it happens. I prefer to freeze my own creatures though so I generally won't buy frozen hatchlings ( even if I like certain hatchlings).
I tend to avoid lineages myself, I actually made a couple of my own ages ago but I don't breed them often, and while I don't mind lineaged creatures for my collection, like cg570014 above I'm worried of accidentally breaking rules by not breeding them or something

Re: How do you prefer your creatures?
for me it's different for every type of creature. I don't mind bred creatures as long as I own the parents, which I usually don't breed with any other creatures but each other. I'm not really sure why. also I don't mind creatures with offspring as long as I was the one who bred them. I try to avoid inbred creatures because I find it more difficult to tell what gen they are. I also do prefer to have my creatures unnamed since I'm really picky about names and renaming is expensive. if I plan to keep a creature permanently then I will name it but more often than not coming up with one I like for every creature is too much work. I do tend to avoid lineages as well for the same reasons as those above (not wanting to accidentally break any rules).
I do prefer hatchlings in most cases just because I like the sprites more but if I like the creature's adult sprite more then I'll raise it. sometimes I'll try to get low percentage hatchlings since they seem extra cute and small in my mind (idk) but I don't mind higher percentage hatchlings either.
none of this really applies to rabbit creatures. I love all of them

Re: How do you prefer your creatures?
My preferences on creatures changed over the years. Nowadays I prefer my creatures parentless, unnamed and unfrozen. Thanks to protected and hidden tabs they won't grow unless I want them to grow up - for breeding purposes or of I like the adult sprite

Re: How do you prefer your creatures?
Hm, for the most part I prefer parentless, unnamed, unfrozen and unbred creatures if they are available at the stream or in a shop. For hybrids I prefer 1st gens and the same goes for lineaged creatures. Mostly because I don't want to mess creatures up through accidental inbreeding.
However, I love to collect certain hatchlings, and for those all of the above doesn't matter. They can be any generation, frozen or not, even inbred creatures are fine, since I'm not going to grow them into adults that can create offspring.
