Pretty sure you get the Pygmy Phoenix from buying drinks.. I've got 2 so far.. but I'm selling them because they aren't breedable.
I am in the process of moving house, so I will not be around much for the foreseeable future.

I've been mysteriously getting pygmy phoenixes. How am I getting them?

Not the drinks.
It's from the eggs I think. I haven't bought any drinks and I keep ending up with them

I bought a few drinks and not gotten a pygmy, but once I started throwing eggs they showed up, kind of like the Osseo Spiders and deerwolves in the halloween event. Maybe it's both :t-shrug:

Edit: oh gods, four people chucked eggs at me at the same time. My poor magi got ambushed :lol:

Deerwolves :lol: glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks they look like that.

But yeah, pretty sure its a random chance from throwing eggs. :P Which is incredibly fun. :evil:
