As stated in the title, it's a place where you can talk about MS lore and any headcanons you may have no matter how small. Even though MS has really amazing and detailed lore, sometimes we just happen to make different connections
Feel free to ask questions or add your opinions
I guess I'll start.
-It's possible to send creatures away from the Keep, but unless you have contacts getting them back is an adventure.
-The reason Belmos is busy is because the frozen egg mountain got a tiny little bit too big for him to handle. He's working on a spell to shrink them, but resizing too many at a time makes his magic lag.
-Remy uses his earnings to pay the magi who collect the eggs. The rest go into drink ingredients and spell components. And the profit? He hides it in a hole somewhere upgrades, because during festivals drunk magi only take more and more space.
-Sepiida marker pens are a thing.

Re: MS Lore/HC Discussion Thread
Somewhere in Synara sits a lovely old mansion with beautiful gardens that is rumored to be haunted by the souls of the previous owners that were murdured/cursed. It's not, but it is owned by several magi siblings who are overly fond of traveling, Osseo Spiders, and Skeletal Feloses.
... I needed somewhere to put them and my Synara tab looked empty, okay?
And now for some that aren't based off my magi...
- The 'forest' above the Razan Jungle is actually a swamp/marsh and is mostly unexplored due to the difficulty of getting to it and traveling in it.
- Crystals grow rapidly in certain parts of the Nareau caves. Some brave souls use this to their advantage and leave trinkets and skulls there for a while so they'll grow crystals. Of course, there's no guarantee of finding the object again, and the caves are still pretty easy to get lost in...
-There are undiscovered continents in the magiworld that don't have magic. Not like Alveus, where magic is distrusted because of the wars, but the humans literally don't have magic abilities.

I've been wanting to make a thread like this, but all I have are questions.
The only one I can think of atm - Is The Keep the only place magi live, or do they have private homes?

They probably have the option of remaining at the Keep, or moving elsewhere once they graduate. Some magi probably live closer to the things they research and make occasional trips to The Keep to use the library or somethingLightningDragon wrote:I've been wanting to make a thread like this, but all I have are questions.

And now the real question - how do magi recognize their own creatures? Do they like, have a unique magical signature or something? Because I'm sure as heck not about to get close to a Nandi bear or something to check to see if it's mine or not.

I always headcanoned my critters wearing a piece of enchanted fabric on them and my magi having the "master control." She can use the control to "ping" her nearby creatures, like a gps tracker almost.Arkinine wrote: And now the real question - how do magi recognize their own creatures? I've been wondering something for awhile, ever since reading the stipica lichenthrope entry. It says there regular lycans have eggs. Does that mean the other companions lay eggs? Do humans lay eggs? Does everything in this world just... lay eggs????

Given that all of the creatures on the site seem to lay eggs, the answer is probably yes.Blindstar97 wrote:Arkinine wrote:I've been wondering something for awhile, ever since reading the stipica lichenthrope entry. Re: MS Lore/HC Discussion Thread
I think I have a few questions - I haven't read a lot of lore aside from a few bestiary entries but...
- Are the Boreas wolves magical? Their entries don't say anything about any kind of properties, so I'd just assumed their night vision was their 'hidden talent.'
- How big is this planet, or is it just Earth and magi are basically what dolphinbacks are to Dinotopia?
- does anyone feel bad about eating Arkenian geese

I assume the same way you'd recognize your dog or cat from among other dogs and cat. Own tiny, unique differences, personalities. Also if they're with a magi they'd be tamer than wild ones.Arkinine wrote:

Re: MS Lore/HC Discussion Thread
A question I've wondered for a while - are there multiple races, like elves and dwarves and whatnot, or just humans?
Re: MS Lore/HC Discussion Thread
In the story The Forgotten Race there is a race described as "very tall with smooth pale skin", and in the story they managed to annoy even the trees and moon. But they've since disappeared.LightningDragon wrote:A question I've wondered for a while - are there multiple races, like elves and dwarves and whatnot, or just humans?
Alveus also has people who distrust mages and magic due to their history, so we can assume they're non-magical folk.
And of course magi and their allies, the lycanthropes, naga and mermaids.
crimbo!
