25 kilos of cucumbers cut to thin slices. Done.
I actually did something productive today. Yay me.

It's the 'risk' of living in a traditional country. It's mandatory to make jars on top of jars of pickles for the winter.Enchanteddil wrote:That is a lot of cucumbersReal wrote:25 kilos of cucumbers cut to thin slices. Done.

Ah, I see No winter here, so no pickling jars of cucumbers. We only have sun and rain and cucumbers and pumpkins any time of the yearReal wrote:It's the 'risk' of living in a traditional country. It's mandatory to make jars on top of jars of pickles for the winter.

That's pretty nice. And convenient.Enchanteddil wrote:Ah, I see No winter here, so no pickling jars of cucumbers. We deal with cucumbers, peppers, cauliflower, cabbage and green tomatoes. Then with roasted peppers and roasted eggplants, tomato juice and a traditional thing that's made of several of the above. The joy
At some point we used to make different fruit jams and compotes but gave up on that, mostly.

But after it's all done, all you have to do is eat them. All of that sounds delish

My grandma still goes to the woods in summer to get berries and shrooms to make jams and pickles out of. Thank goodness she doesn't ask for my help, though, since I don't even eat jams OR pickles.

Some of our snake have been limp but then got up you could get him out and listen around his mouth for a lung infection some of our snake have been sick too.PKGriffin wrote:I walked into the snake room this morning and saw our ball python lying at a weird angle with his head against the wall looking very limp and not moving. He was in the same position yesterday, so I tapped the edge of his enclosure to see if he was okay, and no movement. I watched him for a bit to make sure he was breathing, and nothing. Didn't even move when I reached in to touch him, so I've been debating whether I should call my brother (it's technically his snake), or wait until he gets home and tell him the snake's not doing well. Of course, when I check in again, the damn thing's lifted his head up and flicking his tongue at me like I disturbed his beauty sleep. I'm going to keep an eye on him, but he seems to be fine.
