"OMG the SDCC shared exclusive Pops are now live and I KNOW they will sell out and be triple that price on Ebay in a week. I mean, it's an investment technically so it'd be irresponsible of me to *not* get the ones I really want, right?" - Also me, after making a couple of purchases....

(But hey, I spent a few hundred last year so I'm doing okay this time around. So far. Plus what I bought last year has at least tripled and in some cases quadrupled in value so from a collector standpoint, it really *is* an investment...)

Every time I come to the site and see "Happy Birthday" from May 10 as the big news with the one before it from January 22, I just want to yawn. I'm not asking for a zillion creature releases--I know the artists and writers work hard but have real lives--but seriously, you can't think of some news or something to post once a month? The main site page needs to show some signs of activity. 2 posts since the first of of the year makes the place look dead.

It is, compared to previous years. The MD feels super stuck, for example. A year ago, someone offering donis for <50k/shard wouldn't have had their thread up for more than two days, now I've seen more than one of those sitting around for months already. But the thing is, I don't really have a suggestion on how to fix it, and I doubt they're not aware of what's happening. Maybe a community event could get things going again, I dunno.

I know they have a lot things planned (though not what), so I'm hoping those will do the trick. It's probably pretty difficult to keep everything at 100% activity all the time, especially after almost a decade of the same concept of game.

So besides the pork, which has been tossed, I inherited 3 cats from my brother in law. They got dropped off a few hours ago and are chilling in the back room. They don't seem to sure of the resident pit bull. He is quite good with cats, but one of the trio was quarreling when he approached the carriers as they were brought in. They will have the back room as a hideout. He never goes in there. It will be interesting around here for a few days, though.

I hope they'll eventually be able to get along and that they won't start marking up their territory with stinky smells. That happened to a friend of mine.

So half my company is being sold to another company. The other half is getting folded into a subsidiary of the old company. I'm not going with the new company I'm staying with the subsidiary. We still don't know what's going on completely with the subsidiary because they haven't told us anything. Needless to say the last week and a half have been stressful due to the lack of communication about what the heck is actually going on.

Considering my skill-set I'd like to think myself safe from staff reduction but I'm not taking it as a guarantee. I know I need to get my resume updated but my title at work doesn't even in compass a third of what I actually do and I don't know how to cover that. My mom is recommending that I start applying other places but I don't even know what sort of a job I would apply for.

Something similar here, actually, our higher ups sold their company to a huge conglomerate, they're transfering all the work that isn't straight-up bookkeeping to another country, and half of the office is getting laid off, me included in 2 weeks. I'm -- not very stressed about the immediate future since I've savings and my unemployment benefits will be ok, but I'm sad to leave this job - it's comfy, relatively well paid and my coworkers are cool.

and this weather will stay entire July. Okay fine but...can we have some rain as well, please? The grass is so dry that thunder (if a lightning hits the ground) can start another fire because we know we don't have enough of those already (last time I checked,60-70 different forests over the entire country were still on fire.)

at least my cat seems to be handling the heat better than I am. She found her fav corners to hide and sleep at during the day. drinks a lot of water but that one is to be expected.

If online job applications could stop asking me to upload a resume and then try to put the information from it into automated text boxes, that would be nice. I've seen maybe two places ever that were able to upload information from a Word or PDF file into those text boxes without errors and I'm getting a bit pissed off at them. Just use my resume! I usually have to upload it anyway and it's formatted nicely! It has all of the information you need, I promise you!
