I'm right there with ya. No broken tooth as far as I know, but the likelihood of me getting a root canal on Tuesday is pretty high, and just the thought of having a dentist appointment in a few days has got my nerves going... Wishing you luck. :t-hugs:
I had a root canal on this tooth about 4 years ago, and she really removed a lot of the tooth, it's a wonder it held for this long. I wish you luck too. :t-hugs:

Please be safe! Keep yourself updated about the situation over there, a lot is going on in Paris right now.

Oh I'm not worried, thank you for your concern though!

I'm going with Contiki tours, so while I'm technically traveling alone I won't be alone once I get to London and meet the rest of my team! As for Paris, I'm in a lot of female-only travel groups and these ladies have done a fantastic job keeping everyone updated as a lot of them are traveling through Paris right now. Apparently the majority of the protests are "scheduled" per say. Sure there's some idiots taking advantage to do stupid shit, but not a single one said they felt unsafe. Basically, our tour will just keep an eye on it and if there's more unrest near the Arc de Triomphe, we skip that.

I'm truly more excited about going to see the Moulin Rouge!

Pepper spray is gonna be legal here from the 1st, I can see all sort of things going wrong with that by making that stuff legal in your own home. Can already see the cases where people felt threaten by a home invader and used it only to get in trouble for it later because of some base lines for when one can and cannot use it.

I'm ready for gifting to start, lol. I've got over 200 hatchlings ready to gift and I'm still breeding/catching. Even made a new family of Ruby Wyverns, in case someone wishes for lineaged critters.

Christmas on MS is always so much fun, I can't wait for the event to start. :woo: :woo: :woo:
I am in the process of moving house, so I will not be around much for the foreseeable future.

[crawls out of cave]

Do I have finals this week? Yes. Am I procrastinating? Absolutely.

My quantum class seems to expect that we've learned about radial functions, spherical harmonics, and Laguerre polynomials in previous classes. We definitely haven't and it's... well, it's something.

I want to go into experimental quantum physics, so my grade in this class will be semi-important for grad school apps. I'm going to cross my fingers and hope that I don't spontaneously forget how to multiply matrices on the final. :')
Busy with school but you can find ways to contact me on my profile if you need to reach me. ^_^

Feel free to call me Umbry! :bounce:

That feeling when you know there are artists out there that desperately want someone to critique their artwork; but you have explicitly said that you do not want critique on your artwork because it is something you do for fun for yourself in your spare time and not for other people.

- And people still message you like 'WHAT IS THIS POSE LIKE IT'S SO BAD IT LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER POSE ONLY SIDEWAYS LIKE WHAA?!' <- not the literal conversation, but that's the base of it.

And you're thinking: 'Haha, I know my art is crappy- please go critique someone that doesn't specifically say they don't want critique.'

I don't really understand why people think that they have to 'critique' everything. It's also not productive if you don't explain 'how to fix it' but that's beside my point even.

This is the piece in question, it is supposed to be a joke pose on a practice piece where the character falls on their face because they're tired (think faceplanting into your bed after a long day of work). :/

I want to get better at my own pace; but really, I fail to see how telling me that the pose sucks is supposed to make me GetGud.
That's not even critique, that's just bashing.
Critique would be kindly and constructively telling you exactly what you did wrong and HOW to fix it (and even telling you what you're doing right so you can keep doing that!)
Critique is supposed to be helpful and nice, imo, and if it's anything but that, then it isn't critique.
And of course... if someone doesn't even want critique, then none should be given...

People at work being distinctly whiney...
Lengthy rant in spoiler...
Spoiler
I'm working security on a construction project. 37km long cable run for an offshore wind farm. We have to guard the places where they've dug a big hole to pull cable through and join it. They just swiched from having mobile welfare vans (big van with seats, water heater, heating, lights and even a toilet in a bit at the back) that have batteries to power all the stuff, you're only meant to run the engine to charge the batteries so about an hour at a time a couple of times through a night shift. The morons were sitting in the front running the engine the whole shift to use the blowers in the front and using all the diesel so the construction company switched to cabins. Now they're all moaning that stuff doesn't work properly when they don't even use it properly. :t-bipolar:
One of them just complained in our whatsapp group that his cabin was dirty (wtf does he expect on a construction project????) because there was ONE SINGLE cup left in the sink!!!! Does he think we have a cleaning fairy or something???
My cabin has a leak at the bottom of the window (which I don't moan about) so I cut the top out of a 25 liter water bottle and put it so it catches the water, I even wrote "do not move" in big letters on it... so I come in tonight (sideways rain) and find the moron put the bottle on the floor and put a tiny little tub from presumeably his microwave dinner under the window which had overflowed so water was everywhere. :t-bipolar:
I work with a few great people and a bunch of morons!
Itunes forced me to download their new version to be able to buy a single charity track I wanted. Don't know if it's connected but as soon as my laptop finally restarted facebook wouldn't work... on any browser, only on my computer, it was fine on phone and tablet.. Flipping apple killed my main source of amusement at work... :t-tantrum:
I now have 50+ raid passes on Pokemon Go and no way to get rid of them.. everyone else I know playing it is moaning that they don't have enough!
I've decided to make some attempt at doing the Xmas thing, I found some police line tape laying round at home so I'm going to try to make a wreathy thing with a wire coat hanger, I might put some battery lights on it or I might make a cardboard tree and put the lights on that instead.
If I'm online, I'm probably at work. I'll respond as soon as I can

-nod- I agree with that entire sentiment- and even disregarding that I mentioned on my profile that I wasn't looking for criticism; I wouldn't really have even been bothered by it if they had offered some way of getting better/fixing it/being polite. I don't understand why people bother with 'non-constructive criticism'/bashing.

People can be so negative when critiquing art and they're always so quick to point out every little thing they find wrong. :( It's not even constructive criticism at that point...
I was taught in high school that you should always start with something positive when critiquing art--say what really draws you to the piece. Never be outright negative. If you're going to say something is wrong with the art, word your critique carefully by saying something like, "I like this, but I think if you tried this one technique/touched up this one part, it would improve the piece/make it flow better/etc etc." Kind of sugarcoating it, but wording it like you're offering them a suggestion. They don't have to take the advice, hence why it's more of a suggestion.
Outside of that, the only time I accept to receive a "X looks odd, Y could be better" critique is when I'm struggling to figure out why something in my drawing looks off, so I ask a fresh pair of eyes to give me input on what needs more improvement.
