I wish I could figure out how to advertise commissions better. I’ve been considering getting accounts on lots of various sites to try and get myself out there more, but I’m not sure what sites are best, or even how to get myself more noticed...

Being on several sites helps. try Pinterest (good for posting and sharing art), Deviantart, Tumblr... I recommend to create a YOutube channel as well. People LOVE to see speedpaints. And tutorials will definitely help you as well. Dont know what kind of stuff you make, but this sites are good place to start at. Even if you don't do art (and let's say you prefer to knit) people usually like to see traditional as well as digital stuff posted on DA.

Creating a blog or site can give you some advertisement as well. :look:

So I like Assassin's Creed Origins so far, but the controls are absolute garbage.

I miss the minimap and seeing where a restricted area begins or ends, I miss the old eagle vision (though the literal eagle vision is cool), I miss being able to sprint, instead of TOGGLING IT (why even?), and freerunning is a challenge now because all the moves I'm used to apparently no longer exist, and the keymapping for those that to exist is so insanely backwards in my opinion, like... why? The contorls weren't the problem with the previous games, Ubisoft, why did you have to change them?

The problem with that is that the controls have currently stolen all of my motivation to play the game at all, because I can't get into the story or anything. :/

You couldn't pay me to touch Pinterest or Tumblr with a fifty-foot stick, but... yeah, I've got a deviantart, and I've been considering getting a youtube channel to post time-lapses of my art, but how in the world would I record it in good quality?? :'3 I don't have a lot of money for fancy equipment lol
I've been considering getting a blog! I wonder what blogging sites are best? ...And how to get those blogs noticed? Haha

Personally I use Bandicam. If you use it for free, you can record 10min/vid at best, and get a watermark but it will give you a chance to start your channel. if you buy a key for bandicam you can record up to 24g(!) without a watermark. Its amazing.I havent promoted my channel but one of my vids have 1000 views....no diea how !
When it comes to bloggs, there is a lot of free ones online.Wordpress is really popular for new people, and a lot of people manage to create proffessional content with that one. If you ever feel the need to upgrade (with will cost you money yo buy more space for photos and such), you yourself can evaluate the packages they offer for people and what they include.

When I was studying webbdesign we had to buy our own domain (recommended) and since we were students,we could pay xxxkr/year rather than month. Used one.com as domain hoster and it worked really well. Buying your own domain is recommended, it will give you the ultimate control over your own website. I used the minimal aquariments for domain (when it came to space and such) and I could pass the classwith flying colorus.

When it comes to beginning, even if you hate tumblr or instagram and such,it is good way to start.ANYTHING free that get some free hits for you is good.If you ever find anything else that fits your needs betteryou can delete tumblr and such and just move over to new site. friend of yours is google.Just type "free blog hosting sites" and do some research, try out some to see how they work and that way you can find out what fit your needs best :) Not all of them are free, but there are enough of reviews to help you get started :`3

FRAPS is a free recorder
OBS Studio is anotherone (forgames, but I bet you can use it for normal vids as well).FlashBack Express is another. When you start out your viewers will be somewhat understanding about your lower-quality vids as far they can see what you can do. Here is things that will talk for your advantage.
* being good at art (seen your work. You can draw well, good anatomy and quality overall, and have a nice hint of "I draw it my own way " rather than doing a copy of existing work. This is crusial to gaining viewers.
As for noticing blogs, free art sharing sites is your saviour. First off, they are free.If you ever find something better you can just move on.DA has a lot of groups that concentrate on promoting new artists and their art rather and super-advanced artist. Keep a link to your xxx-blog site on your FB account, on your Instagram,on your DA and so on. Make sure to keep your updates relatively close (one video/week or 2 if you manage that), update our blog as often as you can, even if it is just info about what you are working on.Keep a link to your channel on mainstream, (in your signature) and any other site you may be a member of. If you play (lets say lioden or flight risitng), explore the art community and have a forum where you post regularly, show art to everyone. Beginnings of your art channel suck, but they pay off in the end.

videos are definetly a HUGE plus for you and your channel :) and best of all,Youtube is FREE :`D use ALL free channels possible. Whatever site or community you are part of, it can give you a boost. Have a fav anime/show you like? Make some fanart and BOOM,views guaranteed. As far you enjoyit, it is nothing bad to do fanart. If you get a DA let me know. My view rate is low, but I can fave your work and you may gain some free views just by that. Is till wonder how I got 1k views on one of my vids... and I didnt even PROMOTE thatone :derp:

If you buy your own domain, the sites name willpop up in google. It id with my shitty site
