I totally miss IRL table-top RPGs.. online just isn't the same even after YEARS of online RPing, I STILL prefer table-top. I'm an antique gamer.. literally.. I was playing D&D when it was called Chainmail. And I so much want to play some old-fashioned AD&D 1st or 2nd edition.. or original Rolemaster.. or WoD.. or MERP.. or Harn.. or Traveller.. or even MechWarrior/Battletech.. ANYTHING that isn't online.

I really HATE living in the middle of f'ing nowhere, where the population of the entire county is only just over 5k people. The only bookstore is WalMart.. the only hobby shop, only does drones and RC stuff.. the library is a joke.. the only rec center is for senior citizens (I may be old, but I'm only 55.. not old enough for the SSC).

Ahh the problem of writing a really long fic.
Having to scroll through 100-200+ pages to find something b/c you need to double check a conversation/scene/description for something.
Hard mode: You can't use Control + F b/c the words that might help find the scene are too commonly used.

My mom caught my glancing at my own arm and promptly told me my arm hair was so long she could braid it.

I was actually looking at a scratch I had gotten earlier but thanks for the hit to my self-esteem I guess.
It felt like an especially low blow with how she knows I have issues with skin picking/hair pulling.

Went through a tiny panic attack today. Parked my car on the street here in the city so I could walk to work without having to pay for parking, and then today of all days a storm rolled in. Pouring rain, lightning, the works. Luckily it stopped before I had to walk back, but then it was dark and I was alone and kinda lost cause I couldn't remember the road. Then I thought my car had been towed cause it wasn't where I thought I had parked. So I ended up calling my girlfriend crying asking her to come get me, so she does and we go looking for my car and luckily found it a few streets over. Never felt so relieved.

Pro tip for finding your car if you park it in an unfamiliar place: take a picture of the signs at the closest intersection so you can refer back to the picture later.

So I knew this weekend was going to be rough--I'll be at work super late Friday and again on Saturday, around lots of people, playing nice. Ugh. What I did not realize was that the visiting speaker I'm supposed to set up a social for and meet at their hotel is coming on Monday, not Wednesday, so Monday will also be a stupid long day with an early morning to follow. Double ugh. Also, I should maybe actually tell people to show up to the social.
