So yeah Steven Hawking died (may his soul visit the stars ) so today is kind of a bit sad to begin with. But in America its National School Walkout day...students are walking out to protest about needing gun reform here. And anyways I'm pretty sure the leading half of congress and the prez are pretending not to notice and I'm kind of upset about that...because ya know...I have 2 kids? My eldest is in Kindergarten now...hees the same age as some of the youngest victims in Sandy Hook. I'm terrified every time he goes to school even though I know they lock all the doors and you have to be buzzed in to pick up your kid during school hours. But I mean? Whats to stop some crazy guy with a gun who knows the name of a student to say that they are supposed to pick up X student while hiding his gun and then start firing the moment they buzz him in? Im pretty sure that the people in the office do NOT recognize the parents of every single kid as the school is K-8 so there is at least a few thousand kids in it.

Im even more terrified of the future when he goes to highschool as our local highschool is semi private (its the local public highschool but it also receives tuition students from around the world ..China and Nigeria being a couple of the countries who send students here. So anyways our highschool campus is HUGE and in multiple buildings that are interspersed with residential homes, a church, and the post office. So yeah a shooter wouldnt even need to break in to the school to hurt the kids....he'd just need to wait until the kids are walking between buildings for their next class.

Im...legit lowkey terrified and I pray every day that America can collectively pull its head out its bum and inact some stringent gun reform so in 9 years I dont have to have a major freakout when my eldest starts high school

Agreed with all the points you made, and what makes it worse is that all high schools who are discouraging walking out are doing it on the basis that if you walk out, you'll be counted as skipping class and punished. I would understand if they didn't support it on the basis that it's national and anyone who wants to do harm to students would know about it, but there was a school-wide email sent out to us which heavily emphasized the fact that you'd get in trouble rather than the fact that, you know, there's a potential danger to walking out, which I feel like may be just a bit more important.

Either way, the ones who did choose to walk out all over the country are still doing a really cool thing, imo.

Hello,

So, today is March 14 (in most time zones, including Magistream time/EDT). I've been getting creatures today because March 14 is my favourite date, and then I looked through all of them, and for some reason they are all born on March 13 instead, at least for me.

I went to the Reindeer Games to look through the click threads, and everyone's recent creatures have the date of March 13.

Am I going crazy? Does this have something to do with my settings? I tried to play around with time settings in my profile but the issue is still present. Is it that way for everyone right now, could anyone check please?

My body is so confused. It’s dinner time (technically,) but I can still see outside, so my body ignores the hunger. Basically it’s being like: “Gee, I sure am hungry. Greetings! I assume you are also asexual? I feel your pain, and wish I could find books sans romance, but I’m sad to say that since asexuality isn’t covered a lot in media, most books involve romance as a main plot point. Try fanfiction.
