New cell phone. Trying to get everything set up on it that my old one had. Went from an early model Galaxy S5 to an S7. My old phone was having issues with not liking any charge cable plugged into it not to mention that the vibration string went out almost a year ago.

The one time I don't wear long sleeves while cooking, I got burnt by a big splash of oil onto my left arm... Never got burnt before but I don't think it's anything serious. Just a first degree burn, 2 large burn blisters and 5 other burn marks...

I used to live in Reno. The Peppermill was my fav casino. All you can eat buffet for $10.. and that included prime rib, lots of other meats, pasta... and the dessert bar was to die for. Damn, I miss that town.. but unless you work at a casino, there aren't really any jobs.

That's actually where we stayed. The Oceano restaurant is where we (well, me anyway, my mom had something else) the all-you-can-eat sushi. Gambling wasn't too bad either. The machines had a decent payout and let us play for quite awhile.

Don't know if they still do it, but when I was living there as long as you were gambling (even just slots) all your drinks were free. Thank goodness I only lived six blocks away, lol.. so many nights going home drunk.

maybe i'm just a bit biased since i have a very low tolerance for sweets...
but i think maybe "health" drinks like V8 would be a lot easier to "choke down" if they didn't add so much fruit to the variant flavors.
actually it probably wouldn't involve "choking" at all. V8 normally just tastes like soup. people eat soup. soup is delicious.
V8 that mixes things like spinach and parsnip with stuff like pineapples and mangoes on the other hand is just like vomit with a slightly more passable consistency. ew?

on a slightly more annoying note, my aunt has decided that my disiking caramel and horseradish is reason enough to compare me to my grandmother. with a hearty laugh and a grin on her face, no less.
for starters, grandma loves caramel and horseradish, so i know that isn't actually the reason she said it at all. and this is a highly extroverted woman who prides herself on her social skills - i'll admit that she is actually charismatic af, so i know damned fucking well this wasn't just some freudian slip either, so i can only assume that it was completely deliberate and she was just looking for an excuse to say it.
which just pisses me off the more and more i think about it, because not only does she know that i hate grandma, but she's lived with her too to know exactly why. she knows full well that her mom is a manipulative sociopath and she knows all the awful shit that woman has done to her kids. she knows damn well that mom and i got stuck, and i mean literally financially stuck, living with that cunt for an extra decade and that mom came out of it without a shred of confidence left. she knows her mom is an abusive fuck and she also knows, because i have personally told her before, that i was at one point less than half an hour away from a violent snapping point with that woman for all the shit she's done. she also knows that despite grandma not even being on the same end of the country for the last two years, i still hate that woman so much that i frequently get stuck obsessing over all the shit she's done to us for hours after the thought's come up. she knows that the slight mention of that woman sends me into angry, shaking fits. she knows ALL of this, and for some reason, the thought just happened to be floating around in her head that it would be fun to compare me to her.
sometimes i really have to think hard on whether or not my aunt's "cool" factor is high enough to get away with some of the steaming shit that comes out of that asshole of a brain of hers. this is not one of them. no, this is one of those times when it's really fucking easy to come to a hard NO.

Computer is absolutely shitting itself after this stupid forced update. I've had 3 crashes in the past 20 minutes, and this last one showed the BSOD! I can't afford to buy another computer if this one is spontaneously deciding to die

One hard drive scan and repair, a complete virus scan, an iastor.sys driver update, a SFC scan, seven BSODs, one last-ditch effort system restore, and almost 12 frustrating hours later, I think my computer is going to be okay. :') This is the longest it has gone without freezing (I even got a YouTube vid going on in another tab since it was a quick way to tell if the BSOD would be triggered as I was troubleshooting and nothing has happened yet), so hopefully everything is fixed. *prays that I'm not tempting fate*

The cat managed to turn off the power strip the dinosaur computer was plugged into and it decided it was 1980 again. lol There's a problem with the onboard battery, so it cannot keep time if the power is out. The funniest one was when it decided it was 2099 and refused to go to any websites, stating that the security certificates had expired. I need to look into what it would take to replace the battery, though. It's nice having this as a backup, even if it is running Win98.
