The Atrium

You enter the the large, open-air courtyard that is The Keep's Atrium.

Many magi gather here standing in small groups around burning braziers, sitting along fountain steps and converging at a makeshift tavern cart. Remy's own brews are served here and the best cooks from around the land come to let the community sample their dishes. You casually order a mug of Dandelion Tea, to which a cheery barmaid carefully hands you a nearly overflowing mug, complete with a sprig of mint. You swirl the bittersweet brew and proceed to the fountain, settling down in the sun to enjoy your drink.

A number of puvia roost overhead upon decorative archways that are carved with all sorts of creatures, both familiar and unfamiliar. The plaza echos with the sounds of conversation, yet it never becomes too loud. An air of comfort and relaxation pervade - most of the time. A small, stone stage is set up at one end where, if you are lucky, a renowned magi may speak or perform.

Suddenly the courtyard hushes as a familiar figure, dressed in emerald and gold robes approaches the stage. A rush of flapping is heard when you notice a coria alagos dart overhead before gently landing upon the shoulder of Archmage Thane.

"Good afternoon, students, citizens and World-trekking wanderers. Welcome to the newly renovated Keep Atrium. Please enjoy yourselves with complimentary refreshments. This is your chance to get to know the other inhabitants of the Keep, especially those you might not often meet in other places."


((This area has been set up to interact with MagiStream NPC's (Non-Player Characters, including but not limited to, Thane, Kyra, Ridan, Talyn, and Master Belmos) as well as other players within the MagiStream Universe. A sort of Question and Answer area, if you will. Some NPC's might even allude to upcoming events and creature releases...

Red sips at her tea, idly scratching the Mist Stalker at her side. She keeps her eyes and ears trained on Thane, smiling knowingly as the courtyard begins to fill with her fellow magi. She's happy to see Thane back. She raises her mug in silent greeting to the latecomers.

"Things are about to get interesting around here," she murmurs to herself.



Ahh this is exciting, am I doing this right?

Faleep entered the Atrium, a white spotted Ammit hatchling perched on her leather padded shoulder. The Ammit was gnawing happily on a bone. Faleep carried a lion Ammit hatchling in her arms as she walked around, her eyes consuming all the new sights. Her gave snapped to the stage when the Archmage Thane walked on, and addressed the crowd. She smiled when he finished, and went on to look around at all the new creatures that were carved onto the decorative archway.

Kooshy looked out over the atrium from one of the upper windows of the Keep. It wasn't quite warm enough for her to venture out and mingle with her fellow magi.

I don't know what's going on, but I like it.

Ashling hummed tunelessly as she enjoyed the beautiful day, in her lap a baby vosmari, just hatched the other day, rested in her lap, smiling when it crawled off her. She was watching carefully as the young tortoise walked along the edge of the fountain she sat on. She chuckled, remembering how terrified she was when she saw its brown shell, broken and her newest pet missing. She had, of course, found him rising from the lake near her home, as they are wont to do when first born.

She looked up when a sudden silence seemed to overcome the entire Atrium, eyes widening as she spotted the elusive, yet familiar Archmage Thane, curious as to what made him appear so suddenly.

((*clears throat*))

A magi cloaked in blue strolled into the atrium, a Temple Cat curled around her neck and a silver Rekel trotting beside her, his metal "fur" glowing in the sun. She had come just in time to hear the Archmage Thane's speech, and she smiled. "So this is the Atrium," she mused to herself. The cat purred in response, swiftly leaping down from his perch and promptly disappearing. The magi chuckled, removing her hood. It was a lovely day at the Keep, and with the Atrium newly renovated and accessible to the public, she intended to enjoy it.

Pariah wandered over to Remy's cart, buying herself a mug of the tea. She sipped it thoughtfully, placing several golden coins on the wooden counter. "Argentum," she uttered sharply, catching her Rekel sniffing around people's hands. He was looking for jewelry, no doubt. With a soft metallic hum of a whine, he followed the magi to where she rested one one of the steps.

Taking a swig of the tea, she leaned back, resting her elbows on the step behind her. A mrrow alerted her of the return of her companion, who had materialized next to the Rekel. Bubba licked his paw and started cleaning himself, while Pariah only shook her head. "What's up, Bubba? Seeing the sights?" She sighed. "This is rather exciting, isn't it?" Argentum hummed in agreement, wagging his long tail. The magi idly sipped her drink, the cold tea refreshing her on the warm day.

From the shadows came the form of what could only be a Direwolf, or was it? It rose upon hindlegs whilst its form reshaped into that of a woman with the same brown hair and eyes of the creature she had just shapeshifted from. On her flanks were a Direwolf with a crescent moon upon an ornate collar and a snowy white Arkenian Kitsune. The apparent change in shape did nothing to change the fact that Kitty was now wearing a long blue cloak with ornate silver embroidery at the hems. Curled around her neck was her male Nareauan Quetzalcoatl, Silvren.

Upon hearing Archmage Thane speak, her keen senses picked up on the carts and others mingling about the Atrium. She hadn't a clue who would be arriving or what announcements were to be made but there was an air of curiosity to her companions. After a quick slip of some coins and the receiving of a mug of tea, she sat beneath one of the carved archeways, out of sight enough that she could watch others come and go while silently observing them. Once in the shadows one of her Hellhounds, Hellion, joined her and her companions before he rested his head in her lap as she watched and waited.

PKGriffin walks into the Atrium followed by a trio of small, peeping Dodo Birds, which at the moment seem intent on eating her socks. She orders a cup of tea and relaxes on a bench, picking up the Dodo chicks and placing them on her lap. The Dodo Birds cheep defiantly at a passing butterfly.

Fal glanced around, and spotted somebody she knew, "Silver!" She called out, calling the magi who was cloaked in blue by her old nickname. Fal strolled over to Silver, a smile on her face. Muetre, the white spotted Ammit on her shoulder, shifted over to her other shoulder, so that way he could make snapping noises at the Rekel and the Temple cat.

"Hey Silver, fancy meeting you here. How you doing?" Fal asked, a smiling brightening up her face.

"Has anyone seen Master Belmos? I believe he has the most recent Keep almanacs. It would appear that I've missed a few things while on an unavoidable sabbatical..."
