Well, at least I caught it low enough for freezing. Does this mean egg 4 will be a male? because that's what happened with my Nimbii. 3 females hatched them a male. So far I've hatched 3 female beetles.

While I'm no ornithologist, I don't think it's going to stop. It's a bird thing. They just won't be fertilized eggs and thus won't hatch.
On the other hand, you get fresh eggs for breakfast.
