The Magi's Circle

I guess the Yales are popular among quite a few magi here now...I've been trying to fish one of their eggs from the Stream without luck. I've had to buy a couple from Sibryn instead. They are beautiful and graceful things though - I love their horns.

I continued to pet the winged cats, stroking one and ruffling the other. "Yes...that probably why i like the outdoor so much. More wonders behold here." I agreed about the increased sighting of new creatures. I giggled when one of the lunestre hatchling tried to climb onto my lap, probably looking for more leaves. I often packed a few with me so that they would not venture elsewhere. Digging into my backpack, i retrieved another large juicy leaf and gave it the hatchling who scrambled away once it got the leaf to nibble, joining its companions.
"So those winged cats has a group? Interesting." I asked, surprised when the smaller magi explained. "Truffle doesn't like to play much so she preferred to cling on me."

I managed to catch a few more yales by myself and trading for two from Waynal. This critter was indeed desirable by magi. As for the black ones, I have to purchase some from Remy later as he was the only one who can find their eggs...for now.

Oh, hello, there, Kairi! I didn't see you, and thank you very much for those Strawberry Crabs yesterday. They've been wandering around quite confusedly since, though.

Hi Akari. You're welcome.
Really? I am guessing that they have not well adapted to the new Keep yet since they have been living in mine for a while. I love those Lunestre Dragons you sent and I can see that they are trying to blend in with the rest of mine. I found that they brought back a few shiny things and hanged it on the trees in my Keep like the other Lunestre Dragons.

While I would love to raise the Yales hatchlings myself, I didn't have enough gold at the moment to purchase one from Waynal. Perhaps Remy had found these eggs as well. Maybe I should pay him a visit after I drop the cats back in my room for their nap. Taking the rambunctious lot with me to Remy's Inn was simply not possible, not after the stunt they pulled with the coffee...

"Well, they often travel together for some fun and a lot of mischief, I would say..." I replied, looking over at the cats. They seemed to enjoy this Magi's company very well and they were well-behaved around her. I heard another approaching her and turned to see another Magi. Once again, I found myself becoming nervous. I hadn't been in the Keep for very long and I wasn't sure if I could be accepted here.

I believe that's right. And I'm glad you love those Dragons, and yes, they do love shiny objects. They remind me slightly of magpies in that case. Beautiful winged cats you have there, by the way. Remind me to hatch a couple - a friend of mine needs to be surprised with them after a lovely gift she sent me.

Remy did sell the Yales but it was the black ones which means i had to scrap more gold to purchase a few. "I think i know what you mean." I smiled, remembering the time when I bought a whole bunch of direwolves to Remy Inn. It was a little chaotic with the pup running around, chasing one and another. "Ah..Callisto coffee. Haven't have that for a while. Maybe i should get a cup when i drop by later."

Hopefully they don't hang too much shiny things. It often blinded me when the sunlight shone on them but they are beautiful to see when there wasn't a strong sun around. I am thrilled that the group of Lunestre was growing nicely now. Maybe they will match the number of my direwolf pack soon.

"That's what I was thinking," Nathalie looked over at Asmodeus, who was glaring at Fenris. Her muzzle was twitching slightly. "Asmodeus loves to look for fights." at that, she felt a tug on her sleeve and she looked down to see one of the Kitsune tugging at her sleeve. "Oh, no harm done," she murmured, bending down and petting the Kitsune. "I have an unnamed Kitsune back at my stream. A handsome little fellow." she smiled. "My name is Nathalie. Nathalie Castri. Pleased to meet you."

"Lycara Viride." said Lycara, smiling. "And you're right, they're pretty little creatures. Rambunctious, though." She glanced down at her direwolf, still glaring. "Fenris, put those hackles down." she said, and he reluctantly obeyed, flattening his fur. Autumn wagged her tail as Nathalie petted her, pushing her head into her hand. "My first direcore just hit adulthood," said Lycara, "although she still acts like a pup at times. She's leggy like one, too."

Okay let's try this for fun. It might be a little long, just a warning.

Magi Name: Karzarill
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Species: Human or at least he once was
Goes by: Karz, Karzar

Appearance: He's 6.7 feet with short dark brown almost black hair and tanned skin, a scar runs horizontal just under his left eye. Has well developed muscle without being buffed up due to him traveling a lot in his search for rare and hard to come by eggs. He wears practical clothes so nothing fancy or flashy. He usually wears a pair of black slacks and loose shirt with long sleeves to cover up the scars that runs up and down his arms, he wears sturdy boots that can withstand harsh weather and terrain. His most eye catching feature is a long mottled green scaly tail that flicks back and forth according to his current mood.

Personality: Calm, Serious, but under the surface he sometimes struggles with the inner demons of his past and sometimes doubt himself.

Magic: Fire, lightning and a little bit of earth.

Companions: Many and mostly dragons, but there's Flamia the Phoenix who's always together with Mantira the Manticore, Flamia is the brain and Mantira is the muscles in that duo. They grew up together and are never far from each other, they usually goes with Karzarill when he leave his keep and Casira the Emerald hatchling is never far behind. Casira's growth was stunted by a disease when she was very young and as a result she was unable to grow into an adult. She always follows Karzarill around and is usually riding on his shoulder. There's also an unnamed male Black Ice Dragon that guards his shop and the Bone Dragons (all four unnamed) that guards his keep, too big to live in Dragon Keep they roam the area around it making sure no one gets too close unless they've been invited by their magi.

History/Background: Sold into slavery at a young age Karzarill remembers almost nothing about his parents and nor does he care to know them since they were the ones that sold him. He only remembers that one day they left him with a man saying they loved him and never came back. Being a disobedient slave he was often punished by not getting fed, beaten and worst. As a result scars cover most of his body, most of them being either burns or cuts. He discovered his magical powers when his was around 10 by sheer luck when a fire broke in the area he and several other child slaves lived in. Instinctively trying to shield himself he discover that the fire bended away from him when he raised his arm to shield himself. He then started to secretly experiment with his newfound ability to manipulate fire. He continued his secret little experiments for about six months before some of the other slaves discovered him and his ability to manipulate fire. He manages to get them to shut up about him being able to use magic and said that he had plans for the man that had bought them as slaves.

One night a fire breaks out but in slave master’s quarters, unable to escape the fire he perished in the flames leaving nothing more than a smoldering corpse. It was also the night a magi discovered Karzarill and his destructive ability, sensing that this was not just a regular fire he asked the other slaves if they knew anything and after some time they revealed that it was Karzarill that had used is magic powers to start the fire by manipulating the fire in the fire place. The magi then managed to convince him to come with him to the keep were he became the boy’s mentor and would be teach him how to use his ability and when to use it. Even if he managed to get Karzarill to understand that he shouldn’t use his ability to manipulate fire like the way he did the night he killed the slave master. The boy still outright said he didn’t regretted what he’d done that night and said he’d gladly do it again if needed. As the years passed and Karzarill learned how to better control his destructive powers he also learned that they were directly linked to his feelings and mood. Negative feelings like anger and hate make his flames grow in power making it easier for them to grow out of control. While positive feelings made his fire more docile but still destructive and easier to handle. He also learned how to use lightning based magic, his mentor told him the reason he was able to harness the power of lighting was most likely because it had a similar destructive nature like fire the only difference was that the lighting was unaffected by Karzarill’s mood and feelings, he much later learned a little earth magic but the element is far from one he understand or are able to fully master so it'll only ever be simple and small spells.

Despite his mentors guidance Karzarill still managed to end up in company of dark magis. That’s was where he ended up getting his tail from when an experiment went horribly wrong nearly killing himself and other dark magis. His mentor of course tried to help his student but to no avail the tail was to stay. The only thing he promised his mentor was that he would never do such a foolish thing again for as long as he lived some things were just not meant to be toyed with. In the end he left the keep but not for good and found himself an old abandoned fort to settle in and started his shop where people are able to order creatures directly from The Dark Brotherhood.

Other: He takes great pride in the quality of the creatures he raises and sell in his shop and the families he have created over the years. Especially his Tundra Tylluan families that he have raised and trained for the purpose of guarding knowledge and secrets and are more than willing to raise and train a member from any of his families for any that ask for one. It is also not uncommon for him to allow students that want to take a close look at dragon companions into his keep as long as they’re aware of the danger a dragon can pose. To this day he hates anyone that tries to take away another person’s freedom due to his own experience as a slave but he won’t talk about it. He won’t hesitate to do something if he spots someone being robbed of their freedom even if he have learned that setting the freedom robber on fire is not needed. The accident that gave him his tail is another thing he won’t talk about since he don't see the need to tell others what he did out of fear that cocky young magis might try it themselves and end up dead like he nearly did.

Karzarill walks around while scratching his head.

"Have anyone seen two Tundra Tylluan chicks, a black and a white one around here, they ran off in the middle of training?"
