The Good:
The loan came through so we might be getting some things taken care of (Finally!) like hopefully a better/faster internet access/connection. Plus may get a new bed (the old one of mine broke & been sleeping on an old army cot since.) so that's in the yay side of things.

The Bad:

The roomiex had a tire just up and blow on him so a chunk of the loan was already eaten up. Because ya know, there was money laying around and the Ladies Fate, being the ever watchful & rather full Loki-like tricksterism, decided that was a terrible shame to see us sitting on a fistful of money earmarked for, ya know, Important things like not sleeping on a crap-cot and fighting with dial-up to download even the smallest thing for Hours. It Always happens that way. We get a teensy bit of freed-up money, decide to save it for something bigger at a later date and some nosejob of a sitch pops up demanding a chunk (usually All) of it. Because like, life isn't a pita Enough without Really being a pain in the... Rear.

The Weird:

In five days (well four days, five hours and some odd minutes) I'll be a year older. This is Always a bit of a shock to me as I still harbor a small bit of surprise that I made it passed eighteen. I was sure I was likely to end up dead by eighteen as a kid. Without explaining that in detail, let me just say that I had an eventful and rather... Hazardous... Life leading up to and a bit beyond my year of majority. Not that I thought I was invincible or immortal. Quite the opposite actually. The near, whisker-breadth escapes from certain doomage were a bit too thick on the ground when and where (and with Whom) I grew up.
So I spent a good deal of time when I wasn't dodging certain doom, thinking about how one of these times, I would zig when I should have zagged and that would be that. I honestly can say I'm a firm believer in blind stupid luck, because there's no way I'd sit here and claim any sort of Skill in the matter. And even though my life has settled down quite a lot, I still look with askance at another year passing. It feels as if I'm waiting for the person the time Really belongs to to come and ask for it. Like I'm just sitting on a timer waiting for the ding when somebody goes, "Ooops, you weren't supposed to be around this long! Better fix that before the boss catches wind of the mistake." and punches my ticket and off I go.
