I would really like a minotaur. Minotaurs are totally underrated as far as mythological creatures go, and since they're half-human it would be kind of cool to see some big nasty Minotaur as your best friend. Or, maybe since we have Decessus while are rather gnarly, we could have some kind of undead ally like a zombie or a draug... Then again that'd be pretty dark. But still really cool! The quest would be all about how your friend died and either you brought him back to life with consequence or some unnamed Necromancer did and now you have to go get the Necromancer... Or something. I dunno, I'm just spraying ideas.

Oh, and elves or dwarves. Elves are better, though.

Harpy? They aren't the nicest mythical beasts out there, but they'd have an interesting story! Or a faun or satyr.

Or a Sphinx. I can imagine the quest....would probably have really hard riddles or something (thinking of Harry Potter).
