Re: This site is too complicated
The five gold per egg click instead of one was indeed a huge change for the better! But that doesn't change the fact that the critter output is a little low because so much effort goes into doni critters.

I rather like that Magistream has no adspegasi1978 wrote:Magistream has no ads, thus no revenue from ads - only donations.
The amount of gold per post has been upped. When the site first started the max gold per post was 60 gold, now it is 200 gold. Also you can increase your gold per click on growing eggs and hatchlings from 1 gold to 5 gold by buying the Alicanto Heart from the Artificer Shop for 1120 gold.
Most users that store gold in trade use NPC accounts like the former(?) welcome bot Anna, or even defunct user run guild accounts like the OCGC. The accounts are not "manned" so there is no one to confirm the trade on the other end.
I under stand the frustration with the barrier to entry on donation pets. I think all the advice on goldmaking has be covered. But I do want to point out that you can sell these new stream critters for several thousand gold a pop right now. They won't be going away, so you can get some for yourself once the price goes down.
Just keep at it. It may seem out of reach, but you'll get there someday.

Re: This site is too complicated
In a ways I think MS is good in that you can actually earn gold from simply posting, but then you have threads getting low activity which kind of means you run out of things to say.
But there is one thing I do like MS.
When a new player joins the site, they often find a present from a kind stranger ^^. I got a lot of my creatures from this, but you also can get somebody who decides to gift you something special (and ask for nothing in return).
That is how I got my two Northern Light foxes.
What if instead of shards being required for the breeding of Donation pets, a person can use gold instead? It takes 2,000 gold to change the name of a named creature. Or maybe it can be double-optioned. You can use either gold or shards, in the end hope for success.
Thank you ~

Re: This site is too complicated
Not sure if/how that could work. The gold price for shards is pretty well set at 50k per shard, so you'd need 150k to breed one pair. To me, the $3 you'd pay to buy 3 shards seems much cheaper.. because it can take weeks to earn 150k gold. So I'd much rather that old donations get re-released, because even on my limited income I can come up with $10 to buy two 5 shard pets easier than I can mine 500,000 gold.
I am in the process of moving house, so I will not be around much for the foreseeable future.

Actually I second or whatever the person who said to have clicking a creature earn you five gold instead. It gets so boring clicking on those little diamonds.

IF the old omg-hard-to-get donis were ever to be re-released, I'd like to see them cost more than the original price in shards.CinnaminDraconna wrote:Not sure if/how that could work. For example, it hardly seems fair to re-release an elder crystalwing for 5 shards when the only one I've seen for sale since I joined in 2012 was going for 20 million gold IIRC.
Why should those donis - or any of the creatures that sell for far more than 50k / shard be de-valued just so that everyone can have one?
Gold can be mined, earned by donating and selling donis, by hatching and selling stream, shop or bred creatures or selling transformation items. If there's something a player wants badly enough they can work towards it.
If you purchase the Alicanto Heart from the Artificer Shop, clicking eggs and hatchlings does get you 5 gold each.Silenxia wrote:Actually I second or whatever the person who said to have clicking a creature earn you five gold instead. It gets so boring clicking on those little diamonds.

Clicking eggs does. Hatchlings still give 1 gold.

Re: This site is too complicated
I, for one, lend my 1st gen doni pairs for free. That includes my elder cws, unicorns and void/celestial dragons. And it's really the person's choise if he/she wants to pay me anything or not.CinnaminDraconna wrote:Not sure if/how that could work. The problem here is that people are 'fixated' on owning parentless creatures. Imo when it comes to those three donis mentioned above, it shouldn't matter so much. Just be glad (not you in particular) that you finally have an elder cw.
All you have to do is poke around and ask. I'm pretty sure there are people like me or people who can lend their doni breedings for some shards. This, without being so picky about generations.

Re: This site is too complicated
If all the folks who can't have fun unless they have the old CWs suddenly got them, what would they complain about next? What would be their next goal? That's two creatures--and really just one with 2 colors. Doesn't anything else interest you? I think the real problem is that there isn't much to do on the site between events. As someone said above--there isn't all that much content. I know the staff works their butts off--the most recent events and quests have been fantastic, but if we had something more than donis in between, there'd be more to do around here.

Uh...I got an Alicanto Heart that seems to be more of a token...does that count?
