Name:Mille-Feuille or Napoleons

Ingredients:
Puff Pastry Sheets
Shredded Coconut-1/2 cup (optional)
Whipped Cream-1/2 cup
Milk-2 cups
Vanilla Extract-1 TSP or to Taste
Large egg Yolks-4
Salt-1/8 TSP
Butter-3 TBSP Melted
Cornstarch-1/4 cup
Sugar-1/2 cup
Coconut extract-1/4 TSP
Halved Strawberries-(Optional)
Powdered Sugar-(Optional)
Chocolate- Melted, Light or Dark

1.In a medium bowl wisk together egg yolks, cornstarch, and 1/4 cup of sugar.
2.In a medium sauce pan combine vanilla extract, coconut extract, milk, remaining sugar, and salt. Stir gently over medium heat until it comes to a simmer.
3.Whisking constantly pour the heated mixture into the egg yolk mixture slowly. Once incorporated return to the sauce pan.
4.Return the mixture to the sauce pan and cook over a medium high heat till the mixture thickens, approximately 2 minutes.
5.Transfer to bowl and beat in the butter.
6.Gently fold in the whipped cream and the shredded coconut.
7. Cover and refrigerate until cool. About 2-3 hours.
8.Cook the puff pastry as the box directs.
9. Slice the cooked pastry into 3 pieces vertically and divide into halves. When dividing into halves make sure you do it width wise and not length wise.
10. Layer each divided strip with cream in between each. Each pile should consist of 3-5 strips depending on your preference.
11. Cut into halves or fourths and garnish with strawberry halves, powdered sugar, and drizzled chocolate to your preference.
12. Serve
