A shoeless Cinderella, who never made the ball -
Standing in the darkened wings, awaiting curtain call...
In search of ever-after, like in the Broadway shows :
Isn't that the fate my story shows ? ...almost a rose.

Fairy tales promise us forever -
Fairy tales swear we'll be together,
But they fade away, before the curtains close...

A prince who could be charming - a knight without a lance...
Wishing that the author would give him half a chance
To win the happy ending, where love survives and grows :

Everything you count on rearranges,
And the dream you worked and hoped for goes...
