Obie the Wizard
Once the first magi,
They knew not what to do,
With their new power,
For all of this was new.

One, the fire mage,
Jek, that was his name,
What he truly wanted,
Was glory, and fame.

The second, was Arthur,
Great was his ambition,
He wanted great battles,
And also exploration.

The third, we know him,
As old Obie, the wizard,
Obie wished to spread magic,
But would not be heard.

Jek and Arthur and Obie,
Fought a giant war,
For none would step down,
Each one needed more.

Jek camped in the south,
His hellhound scorched it,
And his portion of the land,
Was the Etain desert bit.

Arthur was in the west,
Where lycans now roam,
And with his direcore,
They called the place home.

Obie in the Arkene,
Had a serendin,
White was its smooth fur,
Its knowledge it gave him.

At the caves of Nareau,
They had their great fight,
And what was once day,
Had turned into night.

The hellhound was bright,
But perished there,
For its exact location,
The direcore knew where.

But it fared no better,
For when it slept,
Its snores were audible,
In the morn Arthur wept.

With their companions gone,
Obie removed the rest,
And with his serendin,
They decided to go west.

The Alveans hated magic,
They sent Obie away,
Obie returned to his cave
And started to pray.

His prayer was answered,
By a crystalwing,
And in front of him
It began to sing.

"So you came to me,
In my opinion,
With your magic with you,
Why bother with companions?

Because you need friendship,
Bond with the big and small,
The creatures can help you,
If you need anything at all."

And Obie took on assistants,
Who could learn from him,
And one day one of them,
Would, when times were grim,

Build our dear Keep,
For creatures all over,
To spend their days there,
With their master.
